ATMA Exam Pattern 2026

The ATMA paper contains two sections each from Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Skills and Quantitative Skills. Every section includes 30 questions and must be completed within 30 minutes.

The official pattern confirms that the paper assesses the same three ability areas through two sections each. The syllabus covers logical reasoning, language proficiency and mathematical aptitude.

ATMA 2026 Marking Scheme

Candidates receive one mark for every correct response. A penalty of 0.25 mark applies to each incorrect response. Unattempted questions generally do not affect the score.

Because of negative marking, four incorrect responses can cancel the marks earned through one correct answer. Candidates should therefore avoid random guessing and focus on accuracy.

All six sections have equal individual weightage. However, when the two parts of each skill area are combined, Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Skills and Quantitative Skills contribute equally to the complete paper.

• Ignoring the Sectional Time Limit: Candidates receive only 30 minutes for each section. Spending too much time on a few questions may leave easier questions unanswered.
• Attempting Questions Through Random Guessing: ATMA has negative marking. Blind guesses can lower the overall score, especially when several uncertain questions are attempted consecutively.
