President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers Awards 2026 to 48 selected school teachers at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 5. The ceremony is being organised by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, and will be held on Teachers' Day in honour of teachers who have shown remarkable effort in the field of school education. The 48 awardees consist of 26 male and 22 female teachers belonging to 27 states, 7 Union Territories and 6 central government organisations.

Details of the National Teachers Awards 2026 Ceremony

The ceremony will see the presentation of awards to teachers selected through a three-stage online selection process. The online nomination process for the 2026 awards took place between June 15 and July 20, 2026.

Where to Watch National Teachers Awards 2026

The National Teachers Awards 2026 ceremony can be watched via live telecast from Doordarshan, SWAYAM PRABHA and webcast.gov.in/moe. The Ministry of Education will provide updates via its social media handles. The telecast will give the audience an opportunity to witness the honouring of teachers for their contributions and innovations in the classroom.

Why Is Teachers' Day Celebrated on September 5?

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated every year on September 5 to pay tribute to the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the President of India, philosopher and scholar. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan felt that teachers are responsible for shaping society and should therefore be among the best minds of the country. In 1962, when his students insisted that his birthday should be celebrated, he requested them to celebrate it as Teachers' Day instead.

Teacher Awards in India Other Than the National Teachers Award

There are various other awards in India meant for recognising the efforts of teachers, including awards related to teachers at Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Sainik Schools, state-level teacher awards, and awards for higher education teachers.

Ans. On submission of your mock test, your score and rank would be immediately generated. The ranking is dynamic in nature and it would change as more users attempt that mock test.

Ques. Can I attempt a previous year test more than once?

Ans. A previous year test can be attempted as many times as time you wish and you can review the solutions and analysis of the attempted tests as many times as you want.

Ques. Do you also provide solutions for the questions?

Ans. Yes, detailed solutions will be available to you after you finish the test. You will be able to access these solutions anytime after you have taken the test.

Ques. Will I get any report card after the test?

Ans. Yes, you will get a detailed analysis of your performance after submitting the test.
