Which of the following factors of socialization is the main factor?
Education
Socialisation means the gradual moulding of a biological being into a social being who knows the language, values, roles and rules of the group. Sociologists rank its agencies by how much of this moulding each one performs and for how long it keeps working on the growing child.
Formal and informal teaching, carried on chiefly through the school but also through the home, works on the child continuously for many years, reaches every area of living, and deliberately transmits knowledge, habits, discipline, language and shared values. It also absorbs and organises whatever the other agencies contribute, which is why it is treated as the chief agency.
The others are narrower. Games mainly build cooperation, fair play and physical fitness in a limited period of the day. Regulation of conduct by the group restrains behaviour but does not by itself impart knowledge or values. Collective programmes touch only occasional parts of a child's life.
Education option is correct.
