How should the teacher keep the environment of a class ?
Fearfree
The first condition of learning is that a child should be able to speak, ask and make mistakes without dread of punishment or ridicule. Freedom from fear is written into Indian school law and policy: physical punishment and mental harassment of a child are prohibited under the right to education legislation of 2009, and the national curriculum statement of 2005 repeats that a classroom must first be made free of fear and anxiety.
Fear narrows attention, blocks recall and stops questioning, so a frightened child cannot think even when the teaching itself is sound. Removing dread is therefore the basic requirement on which every other classroom reform depends, not merely a pleasant extra.
A quiet atmosphere sounds attractive, but silence is not the aim of an activity based class where discussion and group work are expected to be audible. A cheerful atmosphere is welcome, yet cheerfulness itself appears once the dread of being scolded is gone, so it is a result rather than the condition. A lifeless atmosphere is plainly harmful and kills the will to learn.
Fearfree option is correct.
