Distinguishing from Other Arthritis Types

While other forms of arthritis can affect the fingers, Heberden's nodes are distinct:

• Rheumatoid Arthritis typically affects the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints and metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, often sparing the DIP joints.
• Psoriatic Arthritis can involve DIP joints, but Heberden's nodes are not its defining feature.
