The investigation process involves several key stages. Based on regulatory practice, the steps are arranged as follows:

1. E. Issue a notice for show-cause to the parties of the combination

   This initial step involves the CCI formally notifying the parties involved in the combination about potential concerns or reasons why the combination might be problematic, requiring them to respond.

2. A. Call for a report from the Director General

   Following the preliminary assessment or show-cause response, the CCI directs its investigative wing, the Director General (DG), to conduct a detailed inquiry into the combination.

3. C. Direct the parties of combination to publish details of the combination

   To ensure transparency and gather wider input, the CCI may order the parties to publicly announce the details of the proposed combination.

4. B. Invite any person, affected parties to file written objections

   During the investigation, interested third parties or individuals affected by the combination are given an opportunity to submit their objections or comments to the CCI.

5. D. Call for additional information from the parties of the combination

   This step often occurs towards the end of the process, where the CCI requests further data or clarifications from the parties to address issues raised in the DG's report, objections, or show-cause proceedings.
