Jean Piaget, a renowned Swiss psychologist, proposed a theory of cognitive development that describes how a child constructs a mental model of the world. He believed that children are not just passive recipients of information but active learners who actively explore and experiment with their environment.

Piaget's Core Concepts: Adaptation and Schemas

According to Piaget, cognitive development is fundamentally a process of adaptation to the environment. This adaptation happens through two complementary processes:
