Question

A number p increased by p% of 99 equals 99 increased by 99% of p. What is (p + 51)% of 928 + 72?

The correct answer is

1464

Calculation:

p% of (p + 99) = 99% of (99 + p)

⇒ p + (p × 99)/100 = 99 + (99 × p)/100

⇒ p = 99

Now, (p + 51)% of 928 + 72

⇒ (99 + 51)% of 928 + 72

⇒ 150% of 928 + 72

⇒ 1392 + 72

⇒ 1464

∴ The correct answer is 1464.
