MET Application Form 2026, Registration, Fee, Phases and How to Apply (~65 chars)

MET 2026 registration opened on October 1, 2025 for Phase 1 and stayed open in a second window, Phase 2, until April 26, 2026. MAHE runs the Manipal Entrance Test in two phases each year, and candidates who already attempted Phase 1 can register again for Phase 2 as a retake by paying an additional fee. MET 2026 Phase 2 exam was held on May 23 and 24, results have been declared, and counselling for BTech and other MAHE programmes is underway.

MET 2026 Two-Phase System and the Retake Option

MAHE conducts MET across two separate application and exam phases in the same admission cycle. A candidate who registered and appeared in Phase 1 does not have to accept that score. They can register again for Phase 2, sit the exam a second time, and MAHE considers the better of the two scores for admission.

The retake window for Phase 1 candidates opened separately from general Phase 2 registration, running from April 21 to April 25, 2026.

MET 2026 Application Fee

The total fee has two parts: a registration fee and an entrance test fee, both paid together during application. NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national candidates pay a higher amount than Indian candidates.

Payment is accepted only online through net banking, credit card, or debit card. MAHE does not accept any offline mode, and the fee is non-refundable once paid.

How to Register and Fill MET 2026 Application Form

The MET application runs entirely on the MAHE admission portal at manipal.edu. Candidates cannot change their basic registration details once submitted, so entering the name and date of birth correctly at the first step matters.

• Step 1: Visit manipal.edu and click the admission portal or application form link.
• Step 2: Register using a valid email ID and mobile number to create login credentials. These basic details cannot be changed later.
• Step 3: Log in and select your category, then fill in personal, academic, and communication details.
• Step 4: Choose your course and programme, and select preferred exam/test centres from the available list.
• Step 5: Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph and a scanned signature, each within the file size limit shown on the portal.
• Step 6: Pay the application fee online using net banking, credit card, or debit card.
• Step 7: Review all details on the preview screen. Once submitted, no further changes are possible.
• Step 8: Download and print the confirmation page. No hard copy needs to be sent to MAHE.

MET 2026 Slot Booking Through OTBS

Submitting the application does not automatically fix a candidate's exam date. MET uses a separate slot booking step through the Online Test Booking System (OTBS), and the admit card is generated only after a slot is confirmed.

• Log in to OTBS using the User ID and OTBS password issued after registration.
• Choose an available test centre, date, and time slot. Slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Once booked, a slot cannot be edited. Candidates should choose carefully.
• The e-hall ticket becomes available for download about 24 hours after the slot is confirmed.

Phase 1 slot booking ran from March 31 to April 2, 2026. Phase 2 slot booking ran from May 9 to May 11, 2026.

MET 2026 Has No Correction Window After Submission

Unlike most state and national entrance exams that open a dedicated correction window after registration closes, MET does not offer one. Candidates can edit any field only up to the point of final submission, and once the form is submitted, it is locked permanently.

• Review every field on the preview screen before clicking Submit. There is no second chance to fix a typed error.
• Basic registration details like email and mobile number, entered at account creation, cannot be changed at all, even before final submission.
• Candidates who spot a serious error after submission can only try emailing admissions@manipal.edu, though MAHE does not guarantee any resolution.

Documents Required for MET 2026 Application

MET registration needs fewer document uploads than many entrance exams. Only the photograph and signature are uploaded during the application itself, with academic certificates checked later.

Manipal Jaipur Needs a Separate Application from MET 2026

Candidates targeting Manipal University Jaipur specifically should note that MET ranks are used for admission there too, but the application itself is filled separately. The main MET application at manipal.edu does not automatically register a candidate for the Jaipur campus process.

• Candidates seeking MU Jaipur admission must additionally apply at jaipur.manipal.edu.
• MET exam scores and rank remain valid across all participating campuses, including Manipal, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Sikkim.
• Missing the separate Jaipur application means a candidate's MET rank cannot be used for admission at that specific campus, even if the main MET form was submitted correctly.

JEE Main Scores and MET 2026 Admission

While MET is the primary route for BTech admission at MAHE campuses, the university also accepts JEE Main scores for a limited number of approved seats. This is different from MET score-based admission and follows its own separate process.

Candidates who already have a JEE Main score should still check whether their target branch and campus fall under the JEE-eligible seat category, since not every programme accepts JEE Main scores. For most BTech seats across MAHE, appearing for MET remains compulsory, and no other score is accepted for standard domestic admission.

After Submitting MET 2026 Application

Once the form is submitted and the slot is booked, the e-hall ticket becomes available roughly a day later. The exam runs as a 120-minute CBT with 60 questions across Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. Candidates must carry a printed e-hall ticket along with a valid photo ID to the test centre. After the exam, MAHE releases scores, followed by a merit list based on 50% weightage to the MET score and 50% weightage to Class 12 marks. Counselling registration then opens separately at counseling.manipal.edu, where candidates fill programme and campus preferences for seat allotment.
