MET Admit Card 2026: Slot Booking, Download and Dates

Shristy Kandwal

Jul 22, 2026

MET 2026 works on a phase system that most other entrance exams do not use: MAHE opened two separate admit card windows this year, one for the April sitting and a second for the May sitting, and a candidate's better score across either phase counts toward admission. Candidates preparing for MET admission logged in at manipal.edu with their application number and OTBS password, generated by default from their own date of birth, to download the hall ticket for whichever phase they had booked a slot in. Both phases are over now, and this page covers the release timeline for each phase, the download steps, the slot booking step that comes before the admit card, the documents every candidate needed, and what came next in the cycle.

MET 2026 Admit Card Highlights

MET 2026 ran across two exam phases rather than one single sitting, so the table below separates what stayed common to both from what actually changed between April and May.

MET 2026 Phase Wise Admit Card and Slot Booking Dates

Getting to the MET 2026 admit card meant clearing two earlier steps first, registration and then a separate slot booking window, and each phase ran its own version of both.

Slot booking31 March to 2 April 2026

A candidate who booked a slot for only one phase received only that phase's admit card; appearing in both phases meant repeating the slot booking and download steps separately each time.

How to Download MET 2026 Admit Card

MET 2026 sent a copy of the admit card straight to a candidate's registered email once it was generated, on top of the usual portal download, which is not something every entrance exam does.

  • Go to the official website, manipal.edu.
  • Open the admissions or OTBS portal and click the admit card link for the relevant phase.
  • Log in with the application number and OTBS password, defaulting to date of birth in DDMMYYYY format unless changed during slot booking.
  • View the hall ticket on screen and check the allotted city, centre, date and time slot.
  • Download the PDF and print at least two copies on A4 paper.
  • Check the registered email inbox as well, since MAHE also sends an automatic copy there.

MET 2026 Slot Booking and Why It Comes Before the Admit Card

MET 2026 does not generate an admit card the moment an application is submitted. It only appears after a candidate books an exam slot through the Online Test Booking System, so this step is worth understanding on its own.

  • Slot booking lets a candidate choose their preferred test city, exam date, and time within the options open for their phase, on a first come first served basis.
  • A candidate who skipped slot booking before the deadline did not receive an admit card and could not appear for that phase.
  • If slot booking was missed only partially or left incomplete, MAHE could auto assign a slot, but availability at that stage was limited.
  • Once a slot was booked and confirmed, it could not be changed for any reason, including a later preference for a different city or date.

Documents to Carry with MET 2026 Admit Card

MET 2026 kept its own document list shorter than several other entrance exams, since the exam runs entirely on computers at each centre rather than needing OMR sheets or extra stationery.

What to Do If There Is an Error on the MET 2026 Admit Card

MET 2026 routed every admit card correction through one central admissions office rather than a network of regional centres, so candidates had a single point of contact regardless of which city they were testing in.

  • Any mistake in name, photograph, or other printed detail needed to be reported to the Director, Admissions, MAHE, at the Manipal address, by phone or email.
  • The direct contact for this was +91-92437-77733 or admissions@manipal.edu.
  • MAHE did not publish a separate regional or walk in correction office; every discrepancy went through this one central channel.
  • Candidates were advised to raise the issue as soon as it was noticed, well before travelling to the allotted test city.

This correction channel is no longer relevant for the 2026 cycle, since both exam phases have already been conducted.

MET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

MET 2026 ran on computers at each test centre, so the exam day rules were built around identity checks and centre side technical readiness rather than paper handling.

  • Reach the allotted test centre well before the reporting time printed on the admit card for that specific slot.
  • Carry the printed admit card and an original photo ID together, since a soft copy on a phone was not accepted.
  • Slot timing was fixed once booked, so a candidate arriving for the wrong session was not permitted to switch to a different one on the spot.
  • Any electronic device other than what the centre itself provided for the computer based test was not allowed at the workstation.

What to Do If MET 2026 Admit Card Was Not Downloading

Most MET 2026 candidates who could not see their admit card had either skipped slot booking or mistyped their OTBS password, since the portal itself rarely failed outright.

  • Confirm that slot booking for the relevant phase was actually completed, since an admit card never generates without it.
  • Recheck the OTBS password, remembering that it defaults to date of birth in DDMMYYYY format unless changed during slot booking.
  • Use the Forgot Password option on the portal if needed, which sends a fresh password to the registered email and mobile number.
  • Check the registered email inbox for the automatically sent copy if the portal itself was slow to load.

MET 2026 Important Points

A handful of MET 2026 admit card details are easy to miss because they sit outside the download and exam day process entirely.

  • A candidate appearing in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 received two separate admit cards, one for each sitting, not a single combined document.
  • MET 2026 scores from either phase carried forward equally into counselling, so neither phase's admit card mattered more than the other for admission purposes.

About MAHE, the University Behind MET 2026

MET is not run by a state government board or a national testing agency, which is worth noting since every other detail on this page might otherwise suggest a similar setup.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education conducts MET itself, as the exam's own private, deemed university, rather than delegating it to an external testing body. Its BTech seats sit across a small number of campuses, chiefly Manipal Institute of Technology in Karnataka, Manipal University Jaipur in Rajasthan, and Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, with MET also feeding into MAHE's pharmacy, science, and allied health programmes. This is why MET, unlike many other exams covered on Prepp, sends its own admit card by email directly and handles corrections through a single admissions office rather than a distributed network of centres.

MET Admit Card Pattern Across the Two 2026 Phases

Lining up Phase 1 and Phase 2 side by side shows how consistent MAHE kept its own admit card timing within the same year.

PhaseGap Between Admit Card and Exam
Phase 1, 2026Admit card window opened 10 to 13 April, exam followed on 13 and 14 April
Phase 2, 2026Admit card released 20 May, 3 days before the 23 May exam

MET 2026 Admit Card and the Link to Result and Counselling

The application number and OTBS password used for the MET 2026 admit card stayed the same login for everything that followed the exam.

MAHE declared the Phase 2 result on 26 May 2026 as a rank based scorecard, accessible through the same OTBS login used for the admit card. Counselling registration followed in the second week of June 2026, and seat allotment for Phase 2 was completed on 20 June 2026, with further counselling rounds continuing into late June for candidates awaiting a preferred campus or branch. MAHE has pencilled in August 2026 as the tentative start of classes for admitted candidates.

MET 2026 Admit Card FAQs

Ques: Does a candidate need to appear in both MET 2026 phases to be considered for admission?

Ans: No. A single phase is enough, and MAHE only considers the better of the two scores if someone appears in both, so most candidates need only one valid admit card.

Ques: Is the MET 2026 admit card the same as the application confirmation page?

Ans: No. The confirmation page is generated right after the application is submitted, while the admit card is a separate document that only appears once slot booking is complete.

Ques: Does the automatically emailed copy of the MET 2026 admit card count as a valid entry document?

Ans: Yes, if printed, since the same PDF sent by email is identical to the one available through the portal; only a soft copy shown on a screen is not accepted at the gate.

Ques: What happens if a candidate's photograph on the MET 2026 admit card looks unclear?

Ans: This should be reported to the admissions office before the exam date, since the same photograph is used for identity verification at the centre alongside the original photo ID.

Ques: Is the MET 2026 admit card required again after the exam is finished?

Ans: Some candidates are asked to produce it again at counselling for identity confirmation, so it is worth keeping safe rather than discarding it right after the exam.
