OUAT Application Form 2026, Form A and B, Registration, Fee and How to Apply (~70 chars)

Jul 22, 2026

OUAT 2026 registration for undergraduate courses opened on April 17 and closed on May 21, 2026, after the university extended the original May 11 deadline. What makes OUAT different from most entrance exams is its two-form structure. Candidates fill Form A before the exam to register and get their admit card. After appearing for the exam, they fill Form B to enter their rank, preferred colleges, courses, and category details for counselling. Both forms must be completed for a candidate to be considered for admission. OUAT 2026 UG entrance exam was held from June 9 to 11 in CBT mode, and Form B is currently open for candidates who appeared for the exam.

Why OUAT 2026 Uses Two Separate Application Forms

Most entrance exams use a single application form that covers everything from registration to course preferences. OUAT splits this into two because the university does not ask candidates to lock in their college and branch preferences until after they know their exam rank. This two-step approach gives candidates time to make more informed choices during Form B, since they already know where they stand in the merit list.

  • Form A is the pre-exam registration form. It collects personal details, educational qualifications, exam city preference, optional subject choice (Mathematics or Biology), and the photograph and signature uploads. It must be submitted and the fee paid before the exam.
  • Form B opens after the exam results are declared. It pulls the personal details already entered in Form A, and asks candidates to fill in their exam rank, preferred OUAT constituent colleges, course choices in order of preference, and supporting category documents.
  • A candidate who submits Form A and appears for the exam but does not fill Form B will not be considered for admission, even if they scored well.

After Form B is submitted, a confirmation SMS and email are sent to the registered mobile and email. Candidates should print Form B and keep it for future counselling steps.

OUAT 2026 Application and Exam Dates

OUAT kept the Form A registration window open for about five weeks, with a separate one-day buffer for fee payment. The exam was held in the second week of June, and Form B opened after results were declared. The university extended the Form A deadline twice before finalizing it at May 21.

OUAT 2026 Application Fee

OUAT charges a flat fee of Rs 2,000 for all candidates regardless of category. There is no concession for SC, ST, or OBC applicants at the application stage. The fee covers both Form A and Form B processing. Payment is accepted through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or in cash at the nearest Common Service Centre (Jana Seva Kendra), making OUAT one of the few entrance exams that still accepts offline fee payment at a physical counter.

  • Application fee: Rs 2,000 plus applicable bank charges.
  • Payment modes: debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI (online), or cash at a Common Service Centre (offline).
  • The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, including cancellation or non-appearance.
  • Candidates who submitted multiple forms must inform OUAT at least 15 days before the admit card release. The fee for extra forms will not be refunded.

How to Fill OUAT 2026 Form A

Form A is the pre-exam registration that must be completed and paid for before the admit card is issued. The application portal is at ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in, not at ouat.ac.in (which is the university's general website). The form is editable until the last date of submission, so candidates can go back and fix entries before the deadline.

  • Step 1: Visit ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in and click 'Submission of Online OUAT Registration 2026 UG'.
  • Step 2: Register with your email address, mobile number, and Aadhaar number or Aadhaar enrolment number. An application number and password are generated. Note these down for all future logins.
  • Step 3: Log in using the application number and password. Fill in personal details, parent information, category, and contact address.
  • Step 4: Choose your optional subject: Mathematics or Biology. This choice determines which courses you are eligible for during admission. It cannot be changed after the last date of Form A submission.
  • Step 5: Select up to three exam cities in order of preference. OUAT tries to assign the first-choice city but may allot a nearby city for administrative reasons. The university's decision on centre assignment is final.
  • Step 6: Upload a scanned colour passport-size photograph (JPG/JPEG, 150 x 200 pixels, max 200 KB) and a full signature scan (JPG/JPEG, 150 x 100 pixels, max 200 KB).
  • Step 7: Pay the Rs 2,000 fee online or at a Common Service Centre. Save the payment receipt.
  • Step 8: Click 'Save & Preview', review all details, and submit. Download and print Form A for your records. OUAT does not accept hard copies by post.

How to Fill OUAT 2026 Form B After the Exam

Form B opens after the entrance exam results are declared. Only candidates who appeared for the exam can access it. The form is pre-filled with personal details from Form A, so candidates do not need to re-enter basic information.

  • Step 1: Visit ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in and click 'Submission of Online Application Form-B for OUAT UG Admission 2026'.
  • Step 2: Log in using your exam roll number, mobile number, and date of birth. The system pulls your Form A data automatically.
  • Step 3: Fill in remaining details: your entrance exam rank, preferred OUAT constituent colleges in order of choice, course preferences (BSc Agriculture, BVSc, BTech, BFSc, etc.), and any reservation or category claim.
  • Step 4: Upload supporting documents in PDF format (each file under 200 KB). This includes Class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificates, and residential proof.
  • Step 5: Submit Form B. A confirmation SMS and email are sent. Print the completed Form B and keep it for counselling.

The last date for Form B submission for the 2026 session is July 6, 2026. Candidates who miss this deadline will not be considered for admission, regardless of their exam performance.

Documents Required for OUAT 2026 Application

OUAT requires document uploads at two stages: a photograph and signature during Form A, and academic and category certificates during Form B. Keeping all documents ready in the correct format before starting each form saves time and prevents last-minute errors.

DocumentFormat / SizeUploaded In
Passport-size Colour PhotographJPG/JPEG, 150 x 200 px, max 200 KBForm A
Full SignatureJPG/JPEG, 150 x 100 px, max 200 KBForm A

Class 12 Science Mark Sheet and CertificatePDF, under 200 KBForm B
SC/ST/PwD/Green Card CertificatePDF, under 200 KBForm B (if claiming reservation)

Aadhaar CardPDF, under 200 KBForm B
Western Odisha Permanent Residential CertificatePDF, under 200 KBForm B (if claiming Western Odisha reservation)

If multiple documents support the same claim (for example, two certificates proving SC status), they must be combined into a single PDF before uploading. OUAT does not accept separate uploads for the same claim.

Choosing Mathematics or Biology in OUAT 2026 Form A

During Form A, OUAT asks candidates to pick either Mathematics or Biology as their optional subject. This is not just an exam preference. It directly affects which courses the candidate can apply for during admission. Candidates who pick Mathematics are eligible for BTech Agricultural Engineering and certain allied programmes. Those who pick Biology are eligible for BVSc & AH, BSc Community Science, and BFSc, among others. BSc Agriculture, BSc Forestry, and BSc Horticulture are open to both groups.

This choice is editable until the last date of Form A submission. After that deadline, it is locked. Candidates who picked the wrong subject and realized it after the deadline cannot change it, which would restrict their course options during counselling. OUAT's official prospectus lists the exact course eligibility mapped to each optional subject.

OUAT 2026 Exam City Preference and Centre Allotment

Candidates select three exam cities in order of preference during Form A. OUAT tries to assign the first choice but may move a candidate to a nearby city if the preferred centre runs out of capacity. The allotment decision is final, and candidates cannot request a centre change after Form A is submitted. Since the exam runs across three days in CBT mode, candidates are assigned a specific date and session during admit card generation.
