TS ECET 2026 answer key was released on May 18, 2026 by Osmania University, on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education. Nine engineering branches sat the TS ECET exam on May 15, 2026, and each branch got its own separate paper and its own separate key. This page covers which key belongs to which branch, the fee and deadline for raising an objection, and how to work out a score once a response sheet is in hand.
TS ECET 2026 moved from exam day to declared result in exactly two weeks. The table below lists every confirmed date and figure for this cycle, and the sections that follow explain each one in more detail.

TS ECET is not one common paper for every candidate. A candidate picks an engineering branch alongside the shared Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sections, and TSCHE publishes a separate answer key for each branch listed below.
| Branch | Answer Key Status |
|---|---|
| Computer Science Engineering | Released |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | Released |
| Electrical and Electronics Engineering | Released |
| Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering | Released |
| Chemical Engineering | Released |
| Civil Engineering | Released |
| Mechanical Engineering | Released |
| Metallurgical Engineering | Released |
| Mining Engineering | Released |
Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry stay the same across every branch, but the engineering section is different for each one. Opening the wrong branch's key will throw off every answer a candidate checks against it, so it is worth confirming the branch code before comparing anything.
Three dates matter for this cycle: the exam itself, the answer key, and the result. A short objection window sits in between the key and the result, giving candidates a fixed stretch of time to flag an error.
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| TS ECET 2026 Exam | May 15, 2026 |
| Answer Key Release | May 18, 2026 |
| Objection Window Closes | May 20, 2026, 7:00 PM |
| Result Declaration | May 29, 2026 |
TSCHE has not announced a separate date for a final answer key in the notices checked for this cycle. Any correction that comes out of the objection window appears to be folded into the version used directly for the result, rather than published on its own.
Downloading the branch wise key does not need an account or a password. The master question paper and key are published together as a public file for each branch, so any candidate can view them.
Every candidate sees the same set of questions, but not in the same order. This is done on purpose to reduce copying, and it is also the single most common reason a self checked score comes out wrong.
The window to challenge the key opens as soon as it is published and stays open for only two days. Candidates who spot an error need to act inside that window, since there is no route to raise a challenge once it closes.
| Particulars | Details |
|---|---|
| Window Closes | May 20, 2026, 7:00 PM |
| Fee | Rs 300 per question challenged |
| Refund | Not refundable, regardless of outcome |
| Payment Mode | Online |
| Proof Required | Supporting document for each question challenged |
Since the fee is never refunded, whether or not the challenge succeeds, it is worth checking a claim against more than one reliable source before spending money on it.
TS ECET does not deduct marks for a wrong answer anywhere in the paper, so working out a probable score only takes counting, not subtracting anything.
| Response Type | Marks |
|---|---|
| Correct Answer | Plus 1 |
| Incorrect Answer | 0 |
| Unattempted | 0 |
Say a candidate matches 162 of the 200 answers on the key. That candidate's score is 162, whether the other 38 were wrong guesses, honest mistakes, or left blank entirely, since nothing is taken away either way.
A few facts about this cycle do not sit neatly under the sections above, but they still change what a candidate should actually do before or after checking the answer key.
The exam name printed on a rank card stays the same every year, but the university running the exam behind the scenes has actually changed more than once in the recent past.
| Cycle | Conducting University |
|---|---|
| 2020 to 2024 | Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad |
| 2025 to 2026 | Osmania University |
TGCHE sits above whichever university is administering a given cycle and sets the eligibility rules, the marking scheme, and the counselling process regardless of the handover. This is also why both ecet.tgche.ac.in and an older ecet.tsche.ac.in domain show up depending on which year's material a search turns up.
A single fully confirmed cycle is the only solid comparison point available right now, since verified dates for earlier years were not found in the sources checked for this draft.
| Year | Exam Date | Answer Key Released | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | May 15 | May 18 | 3 days |
This table will be extended once verified prior year dates are confirmed, rather than filled in with a guess in the meantime, since accuracy matters more than a complete looking table.
Once a rank is confirmed, the timeline moves fairly quickly into seat allotment rather than sitting idle for long. The stages below cover what happens after the result stage this page focuses on.

Ques: Does the TS ECET 2026 answer key show my rank?
Ans: No, it only lets a candidate work out a raw score. A rank only exists once the result itself is declared.
Ques: Can I check my score using a different branch's answer key?
Ans: No, the engineering section is different for each branch even though Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are shared, so a different branch's key will not line up correctly.
Ques: Does downloading the TS ECET 2026 answer key cost anything?
Ans: No, downloading the PDF is free. A fee applies only if a candidate goes on to formally dispute a specific question.
Ques: What happens if a candidate chooses not to raise any objection?
Ans: Nothing against that candidate specifically. Whatever key TSCHE finalises is the one used to score every candidate, whether or not they personally raised a challenge.
Ques: If someone else's objection gets accepted, does it change my own score too?
Ans: Yes, a correction to a disputed question applies to every candidate who attempted it, not only to the person who raised the challenge.
