Jul 22, 2026

COMEDK UGET 2026 registration opened on February 3 and the last date to apply, after two extensions, was March 23, 2026. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka runs this exam for admission to BE/BTech seats across 150+ private colleges in the state, and unlike many state-level exams, it draws the majority of its candidates from outside Karnataka. A single application form also covers Uni-GAUGE E, a second exam accepted by a different set of colleges, if a candidate chooses to pay for both. COMEDK UGET 2026 exam was held on May 9 across three shifts, results were declared on May 26, and counselling is underway.

COMEDK UGET 2026 Combined Application with Uni-GAUGE E

COMEDK UGET and Uni-GAUGE E share the same registration form, but they are not the same thing. Each exam grants access to a different set of participating colleges, and candidates choose during registration whether to pay for one or both.

  • Selecting COMEDK UGET alone covers admission through the standard consortium of 150+ Karnataka private engineering colleges.
  • Adding Uni-GAUGE E to the same application opens up a separate set of participating institutions that specifically accept Uni-GAUGE scores.
  • The exam itself is common. Candidates do not sit two separate tests; the same test score is evaluated against both college lists depending on which option was paid for.
  • A candidate unsure whether they will target Uni-GAUGE colleges should still consider paying the combined fee upfront, since there is no option to add it after the registration window closes.

  • Step 2: Enter your name exactly as it appears on your government ID, along with your email address and mobile number, then click Register.

  • Step 4: Fill in personal details, communication address, and academic qualifications.
  • Step 5: Select your exam city preference and choose whether to register for COMEDK UGET alone or the combined COMEDK UGET + Uni-GAUGE E option.
  • Step 6: Upload the required scanned documents, including photograph, signature, and parent or guardian signature.

Documents Required for COMEDK UGET 2026, Including Parent Signature

COMEDK UGET asks for one document that many other entrance exams skip: a scanned signature from the candidate's parent or guardian, uploaded alongside the candidate's own signature and photograph.

  • Recent passport-size colour photograph, uploaded in the prescribed format and size.
  • Candidate's own signature, scanned and uploaded separately from the photograph.
  • Parent or guardian's signature, scanned and uploaded in the same step. This is mandatory even if the candidate is an adult.
  • A valid unique ID proof selected from the list on the portal, which the candidate must bring in original at the exam and again during admission.
  • Category or caste certificate, for candidates from Karnataka claiming SC/ST/OBC reservation.
  • SSLC or Class 10 marks card, since the name and date of birth entered in the form must match this document exactly, not any other certificate.

Candidates who have legally changed their name for any reason must also upload original proof of that change and produce it again at the time of admission.

COMEDK UGET 2026 Single-Board Subject Rule

One eligibility detail catches candidates off guard more than most others: all individually passed subjects used for eligibility must come from the same board. Mixing boards across subjects, even accidentally, can disqualify an otherwise eligible candidate.

  • A candidate must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from one single board. Marks cards from two different boards are not accepted together.
  • For example, Physics and Chemistry marks from CBSE combined with a Mathematics mark sheet from NIOS would not meet the eligibility requirement, even if all three were individually passed.
  • General category candidates need at least 45% aggregate in PCM; Karnataka-domiciled SC, ST, and OBC candidates need 40%.
  • Diploma holders are not eligible for COMEDK UGET, since there is no lateral entry route into COMEDK-affiliated BE/BTech programmes.

COMEDK UGET 2026 Application Correction Window

COMEDK opened the correction window from April 10 to 13, 2026, after both the registration deadline and the admit card preparation period. Only specific fields could be edited during this time.

  • Editable during the correction window: uploaded photograph, signature, and certain academic details.
  • Not editable at any point, including during correction: applicant name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, and the selected ID proof type.
  • Candidates access the correction window by logging in with their existing application number and password, making changes, and resubmitting.
  • Candidates who registered with a mismatched name or wrong date of birth cannot fix this through the correction window. Getting these fields right at initial registration is critical.

After Submitting COMEDK UGET 2026 Application

Once submitted, the admit card became available on April 29, downloadable using the application number and password until May 9, the exam date itself. The exam ran as a 180-question, 3-hour CBT across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with no negative marking. The provisional answer key came out on May 16, with a two-day objection window at Rs 500 per question challenged. Results were declared on May 26 as rank cards, and counselling, which is mandatory even for high-ranking candidates, began in June 2026 with seat allotment based on rank and college preferences.

COMEDK UGET Application Form 2026 FAQs

Ques: Do I need to be a Karnataka resident to apply for COMEDK UGET?

Ans: No. COMEDK UGET has no domicile restriction. Candidates from any Indian state can apply, and in most years, the majority of appearing candidates actually come from outside Karnataka.

Ques: What is the difference between COMEDK UGET and Uni-GAUGE E?

Ans: Both use the same exam and the same application form, but they grant access to different sets of participating colleges. Paying only the COMEDK UGET fee covers the standard consortium colleges, while paying the combined fee also opens up Uni-GAUGE E-accepting institutions.

Ques: My parent is unavailable to sign the application. Can I skip the parent signature upload?

Ans: No. A scanned parent or guardian signature is a mandatory upload for COMEDK UGET, regardless of the candidate's age. The form cannot be submitted without it.

Ques: I have Physics and Chemistry marks from CBSE but Mathematics from a different board. Am I eligible?

Ans: No. COMEDK UGET requires all individually passed subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) to be from a single board. Marks cards from two different boards are not accepted together, even if each subject was passed individually.

Ques: Can I register for COMEDK UGET more than once if I made an error?

Ans: Not with the same email ID. COMEDK does not allow a second registration under an email ID that has already been used. Candidates who need to reapply must use a different email address, though errors are better fixed through the correction window where possible.
