MAT 2026 admit card is released by the All India Management Association (AIMA) separately for PBT and CBT modes before each of the four annual sessions at mat.aima.in. MAT stands apart from most MBA entrance exams because it is held four times a year and offers three test modes. Each mode gets its own admit card released on a different date, and a candidate who registers for both PBT and CBT in the same session receives two separate hall tickets. Digital copies and photocopies are not accepted at the centre.

AIMA releases MAT admit cards about 3 to 5 days before each exam date, and PBT and CBT admit cards come out on different dates even within the same session. Candidates who registered for both modes need to download each hall ticket separately. The admit card download link closes once the respective exam is over.

MAT 2026 Separate Admit Cards for PBT, CBT, and IBT Modes

MAT is among the few MBA entrance exams where candidates can choose between a pen-and-paper test, a computer-based test at a centre, and an internet-based test from home, all within the same session. Each mode generates its own admit card, and the three hall tickets cannot be used interchangeably. A PBT admit card is not valid for entering a CBT centre, and vice versa.

How to Download MAT 2026 Admit Card

MAT admit cards are available only through the candidate dashboard on mat.aima.in. AIMA does not send the hall ticket by post or email. The download process is the same for all three modes, though IBT candidates verify their admit card during the online proctoring check-in rather than at a physical centre.

Step 1: Visit the official MAT website, mat.aima.in.

Step 2: Click on the 'Admit Card' or 'Download Admit Card' link on the homepage.

Step 3: Log in using the registration number or email ID and password.

Step 4: Select the session and exam mode (PBT, CBT, or IBT).

Step 5: The admit card will appear on screen with all exam and candidate details.

Step 6: Download and take two printouts. The printout must be in good condition, not torn or altered.

Step 7: Verify every detail against the registration form and photo ID.

MAT 2026 Admit Card Details Printed on Hall Ticket

MAT 2026 hall ticket carries the candidate's personal details, the exam centre address, and a barcode that centre staff scan for seating assignment. The barcode is specific to each candidate and must be clearly visible on the printout for the scanning process to work.

MAT 2026 Documents to Carry and Items Banned at Exam Centre

AIMA requires candidates to carry two printed copies of the MAT admit card to the exam centre. Along with the hall ticket, one original photo ID and a recent passport-size photograph (same as the one uploaded during registration) are mandatory. The centre does not provide locker facilities, so candidates must leave all personal belongings outside.

Items banned inside the MAT exam centre

Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, bags, wallets, jewellery, watches, books, notes, personal rough sheets, and any electronic devices. Rough sheets for calculations are provided at the centre. There is no provision for depositing bags, so candidates must leave them outside.

MAT 2026 Exam Timing, Reporting, and Gate-Closing Rules

MAT PBT and CBT both follow a fixed morning shift from 10 AM to 12 noon. The gates close at 9:30 AM, and no candidate is allowed to enter after that. Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the full 120-minute duration ends, even if they finish early.

MAT 2026 Admit Card Error and Correction Process

AIMA does not provide a correction window after the MAT application form is submitted. If a candidate finds an error on the downloaded admit card, the only option is to contact the AIMA helpdesk before the exam date. Errors in name spelling, photograph, PwD status, or test city must be reported immediately; unreported errors may cause problems at the centre.

MAT 2026 Important Points for Candidates

Several facts about MAT 2026 admit card and the exam process fall outside the sections above but still matter for candidates planning their test day and B-school applications.

MAT scores are sent free of charge to up to 5 B-schools selected during registration. If a candidate wants to send scores to more colleges, an additional fee of Rs 118 per institute applies. Registering for both PBT and CBT together raises this to 7 free institutes.

MAT scorecard is valid for one year from the date of the exam. Candidates can use the best score from any session within that year.

The fifth section, Economic and Business Environment (GK), is not counted in the composite score or percentile calculation. However, some institutes may look at it during the selection process.

If the number of CBT registrations in a city exceeds the available seats, AIMA may shift those candidates to PBT mode in the same city. The admit card will reflect this change.

There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can appear for MAT across sessions and years.

MAT 2026 uses a scaled composite score between 199 and 801, calculated from four of the five sections. The GK section is excluded from this score. The -0.25 negative marking for wrong answers means that random guessing across 150 questions can lower the composite score more than leaving questions blank.

MAT 2026 IBT Mode Admit Card and At-Home Testing Rules

MAT IBT (Internet Based Test) lets candidates take the exam from home using a laptop or desktop with a webcam. The IBT admit card is verified online by the AI and human proctor before the test session begins. Candidates who do not present their admit card during the proctoring check-in are not allowed to start the exam.
