CEED Admit Card 2026: Download Link and Exam Dates

Shristy Kandwal

Jul 22, 2026

CEED 2026 admit card was released by IIT Bombay on 2 January 2026, the same day as its undergraduate counterpart, UCEED. The exam followed on 18 January 2026, from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Unlike some other IIT entrance exams, clearing CEED does not lead into a joint counselling process at all. Candidates preparing for CEED admission to MDes and PhD design programmes logged in at ceed.iitb.ac.in with their registered email and password to get their hall ticket. This page covers the download steps, the documents needed, the exam day rules, and what happens after the result.

CEED 2026 Admit Card Highlights

CEED 2026 shares its release date and exam slot with UCEED, but leads into a very different admission process once the result is out, so the table below sticks to what applies to CEED candidates specifically.

How to Download CEED 2026 Admit Card

CEED 2026's download process asked for nothing beyond the login credentials a candidate already had from registration.

  • Go to the official website, ceed.iitb.ac.in.
  • Click the CEED 2026 Admit Card link.
  • Log in with the registered email ID and password.
  • View the admit card on screen in PDF format.
  • Check the name, roll number, exam centre, date, and timing.
  • Download the PDF and take a coloured printout for the exam day.

CEED 2026 Exam Pattern on the Admit Card: Two Parts, One Sitting

A CEED 2026 candidate's single admit card covered two sections with different formats, different durations, and different marking rules.

PartDurationMarksMode
Part A1 hour100Computer based
Part B2 hours100Pen and paper, drawing and design

Negative marking applied only to MCQs within Part A; NAT and MSQ questions carried no penalty, and Part B, evaluated manually, had no negative marking at all.

Documents to Carry with CEED 2026 Admit Card

CEED 2026 asked for a photocopy of a candidate's photo ID on top of the original, a small but easy to miss requirement.

DocumentDetail
Printed CEED 2026 admit cardColoured printout, since biometric details are matched against the photograph on it
Original photo ID proofDriving licence, passport, college issued ID, voter ID, PAN card, or Aadhaar card
Photocopy of the photo IDCarried in addition to the original
Drawing materials for Part BPencil, sketch pens, poster colours, and other drawing materials

Found an Error on Your CEED 2026 Admit Card?

CEED 2026 kept a firm line on timing for admit card corrections: nothing was accepted once 8 January had passed.

  • Errors in name, registration ID, photograph, or exam centre needed to be reported to the CEED authorities as soon as they were noticed.
  • Candidates wrote to ceed@iitb.ac.in describing the issue in detail.
  • Corrections were accepted only through the candidate portal and only up to 8 January 2026, 5:00 PM.
  • Requests sent by email after this deadline, or through any other channel, were not accepted.

CEED 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

CEED 2026 banned a longer list of items than many other entrance exams, covering everything from calculators to slide rules.

  • Reach the exam centre at least half an hour before the reporting time printed on the admit card.
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, digital watches, tablets, calculators, slide rules, logbooks, and other mathematical tools were not allowed.
  • Printed books, notes, loose papers, and any written material were also barred from the exam hall.
  • Bags, handbags, purses, and wallets had to be left outside; biometric attendance, a thumb impression and photograph, was taken alongside the usual admit card check.

What to Do If CEED 2026 Admit Card Was Not Downloading

A CEED 2026 candidate unable to see their admit card usually just needed to reset a forgotten password rather than contact IIT Bombay at all.

  • Use the Forgot Password option on the login page if the password was lost.
  • Recheck the registered email address entered at login for a small typing mistake.
  • Confirm the application was fully submitted and the fee paid, since an incomplete application does not generate an admit card.
  • Contact the CEED office at IIT Bombay if the admit card still did not appear after these checks.

CEED 2026 Important Points

A couple of CEED 2026 admit card facts matter well after the exam itself, once a candidate starts applying to individual institutes.

  • CEED 2026 admit card was never sent by post; the candidate's own login was the only source, with no physical copy mailed under any circumstance.
  • A candidate gets at most two consecutive attempts at CEED, and the scorecard from a given year stays valid for one year only.

About IIT Bombay and the Joint Office Behind CEED 2026

CEED does not run out of a separate design department at IIT Bombay. It shares its administration with two other entrance exams entirely.

IIT Bombay administers CEED through the same joint office responsible for JEE Advanced and UCEED, headed by a single Chairperson for all three exams that year. This shared structure is why CEED and UCEED released their 2026 admit cards on the exact same day and time, even though one leads to undergraduate design seats and the other to postgraduate ones. CEED scores are accepted not only by IITs but also by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, for its own MDes design programme.

Why Clearing CEED 2026 Does Not Mean Joint Counselling

A candidate who assumes CEED 2026 works like UCEED, with one shared counselling process across every participating institute, would be planning around the wrong process entirely.

IIT Bombay does not run any joint seat allotment for CEED, unlike its own UCEED counselling. Once the result and All India Rank are declared, a CEED 2026 candidate must apply separately to each institute they are interested in, whether that is IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, or IISc Bangalore, using their CEED scorecard as one part of that institute's own application. Each institute then runs its own shortlisting, portfolio review, and interview process, and decides final admission using its own weightage between the CEED score and these institute level rounds, which can differ significantly from one institute to another.

CEED 2026 Admit Card and the Link to Result and Institute Applications

Login details tied to the CEED 2026 admit card stayed useful well past the exam, right through the result and the separate institute applications that followed.

IIT Bombay released the CEED 2026 draft answer key for Part A on 20 January 2026, followed by the final answer key on 28 January and the Part A cutoff on 5 February. Result, along with All India Rank, was declared on 4 March 2026, with the scorecard available for download from 10 March through 31 July 2026. From there, a qualifying candidate needed to independently track each participating institute's own application window, portfolio submission requirements, and interview schedule, since none of this ran through IIT Bombay's CEED office itself.

CEED 2026 Admit Card FAQs

Ques: Does the CEED 2026 admit card mention which institute a candidate might be admitted to?

Ans: No. The admit card only confirms exam details; institute admission depends entirely on separate applications a candidate submits after the result.

Ques: Is the CEED 2026 admit card accepted in black and white, or does it need to be in colour?

Ans: A coloured printout is expected, since the photograph on it is checked against the candidate at the centre during biometric verification.

Ques: Can a candidate use their CEED 2026 scorecard for a PhD application even after MDes admissions close?

Ans: The scorecard stays valid for one year from the result, so it can still support a PhD application within that window, subject to each institute's own deadlines.

Ques: Does a candidate need to submit a new application to IISc Bangalore separately from their CEED 2026 registration?

Ans: Yes. CEED registration only covers the entrance exam itself; applying to IISc Bangalore or any other institute for MDes admission is a separate process.

Ques: Is there a fee for applying to individual institutes after clearing CEED 2026?

Ans: This depends on each institute's own admission process, which runs independently of CEED and is not covered by the CEED application fee already paid.
