CLAT 2027 Application Fee and Previous Year Papers Purchase

CLAT charges different fees by reservation category, with a separate optional charge for previous year question papers. The application fee covers both the form processing and exam administration. Candidates who want access to official past papers through the Consortium's portal can add Rs 500 at the time of payment, though free versions of these papers are also available elsewhere online.

Payment is accepted only online through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate and displayed on the payment gateway before confirmation. The fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable once paid.

How to Register and Apply for CLAT 2027

• Step 1: Go to consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click 'Register'. Enter your mobile number and email address. An OTP is sent to the mobile for verification.
• Step 2: After OTP verification, set a password. The Consortium sends login credentials to the registered email. Keep the mobile number and email active through the entire admission cycle, since all communication goes through them.
• Step 3: Log in and start filling the application form. Enter personal details (name, parents' names, date of birth, category), communication address (permanent and correspondence), and academic qualifications (Class 10 and Class 12 details, or graduation details for PG applicants).
• Step 4: Select up to three exam centre cities in order of preference. The Consortium assigns the final centre based on preference and seat availability. Popular cities fill up fast, so applying early gives better centre choices.
• Step 5: Select your reservation and domicile status. This matters because several NLUs reserve seats for candidates domiciled in their home state.
• Step 6: Upload required documents: a recent colour passport-size photograph (up to 500 KB, JPEG/JPG), a signature scan (up to 100 KB, JPEG/JPG), and a domicile certificate if claiming domicile reservation (up to 2 MB, JPEG/JPG/PDF).

Choosing NLU Preferences and Exam Centres During CLAT 2027 Registration

CLAT is one of the few entrance exams where exam centre selection and NLU preference selection both happen at the application stage. The exam centre decision affects where the candidate writes the paper, while the NLU preferences matter later during counselling and seat allotment. Getting both right at the time of registration saves candidates from avoidable issues later.

• Exam centre: candidates can pick up to three cities in order of preference. The Consortium assigns the final centre based on availability. • NLU preferences: while the application form collects domicile and reservation details, the actual NLU preference list (ranking which NLU you want first, second, and so on) is filled during the counselling stage after results are out, not during registration. Several NLUs reserve a portion of their seats for candidates domiciled in the state where the university is located. For example, a candidate domiciled in Gujarat has access to domicile-reserved seats at GNLU Gandhinagar that a candidate from another state does not. Entering the wrong domicile state or forgetting to upload the domicile certificate during registration can cost a candidate these reserved seats later.

Submitting More Than One CLAT Application Form

The Consortium allows candidates to submit more than one application, but only the last submitted form is treated as valid. Candidates must print the admit card and carry it along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre. After the exam, the Consortium releases a provisional answer key within a few days.
