Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board conducted UPTET 2019 on January 8, 2020. The two papers (Paper 1 for Primary Level, Paper 2 for Upper Primary Level) were conducted in two different shifts. It was analyzed that UPTET 2019 was difficult in comparison to last year’s paper.

  • The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. It was along the lines of given UPTET Exam Pattern.
  • Majority of the question in Social Studies were from Social Studies Pedagogy.
  • The level of difficulty of Child Development section was easy, where most of the questions were from Pedagogy.
  • The Mathematics section in UPTET had maximum questions from Advanced Maths.

UPTET 2019 Paper Analysis

  • UPTET 2019 was conducted on January 8, 2020 by UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board).
  • The exam consisted of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 had questions from 5 section, while Paper 2 had 4 sections.
  • Both the papers had objective type questions(MCQs).
  • The overall difficulty of both the exams was moderate.

Child Development & Pedagogy (Easy Level)         

  • The Child Development & Pedagogy section in UPTET is about judging an aspirant’s command over learning & teaching habits
  • There were 30 multiple choice questions in this subject.
  • This section was easier than the previous year. It can prove to be a scoring area.
  • 24-27 marks are considered good in UPTET Child Development and Pedagogy section.

English Language (Difficult Level)

  • The language section in UPTET 2019 is to check the command over English (including grammar, vocabulary).
  • Questions were from basic grammar and vocabulary. Surprisingly, there was no passage in the paper.
  • The paper was difficult in comparison with the previous year exam.
  • There were 30 questions that were tough on the difficulty level.
  • 18-20 marks are good in English Language section.

  • Science section consisted of 60 questions in total.
  • The difficulty level was same as compared to previous years’ exams i.e. difficult.
  • This section consists of chemistry, physics, biology, and pedagogy.
  • An attempt of 40-45 is considered good.

  4. Against every question, the correct answer will be written

UPTET 2020 Cutoff

  • The Cutoff marks are the lowest possible marks that candidates must score to get qualified for next stage.
  • On the basis of difficulty level and number of candidates who appeared, the cutoff for different categories is declared.
  • It has been similar over the years.
  • Candidates belonging to General and EWS categories have to obtain 60% marks while reserved candidates have to score 55% marks.
