SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern is released for ‘Grade C & Grade D’ posts conducted by Staff Selection Commission. It is a common exam for candidates who have successfully completed their Intermediate from a recognized board of university.  Exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 5-7, 2020.  Application forms have been released from September 20, 2019. 

  • The exam consists of a written test and a SSC Stenographer Skill Test
  • Written test consists of 200 objective type questions for 200 marks to be finished in 2 hours.

SSC Stenographer 2020 Marking Scheme

SSC Stenographer 2020 Preliminary exam comprises of 200 objective type questions with weightage of 200 marks carrying 1 mark each. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each negative response. The competition level is quite tough considering the number of applicants. The merit list of the students will be based upon the marks scored by the students in preliminary exam. Marking scheme for the exam is given below.

Exam Pattern for General Intelligence (Reasoning)

General Intelligence test is a form of psychometric testing that is widely used by corporate employers & Government to help assess candidates during the recruitment process. ‘Psychometric’ is just a fancy way of saying ‘measuring mental ability’ and logical reasoning tests are designed measure your non-verbal skills. This section comprises of 50 questions and marks allotted to this section is 50, hence giving equal importance to each question with 1 mark .

Skill Test

After qualifying the Preliminary examination, candidates need to go through skill test to get selected for the post. The skill test/stenography test will be organized at various sub-regional offices or at some other centers. Candidates who qualifies the preliminary exam and eligible for the skill test, will be given one dictation for the time period of 10 minutes in Hindi as well as English with minimum speed of 100 words per minute for the stenographer grade C posts while for Grade D the minimum speed would be 80 words per minute.
