SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2021

The Staff Selection Commission decides the pattern and the syllabus of SSC MTS exams. The candidates must be well versed with the newest SSC MTS Exam Pattern.

The Commission conducts the SSC MTS exam at two stages:

  • SSC MTS Paper I is an Objective Type test
  • SSC MTS Paper-II is a descriptive type test

The SSC MTS Exam pattern for both Papers I and II are given below for candidates’ usefulness.

SSC MTS Exam pattern-I

  • Paper I of the SSC MTS Exam has four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness, General English.
  • The medium of SSC MTS Paper I is bilingual, i.e., in both English and Hindi language, except for the overall English section.
  • There are 100 questions in Paper I of 1 mark each and negative marking for every wrong attempt is 0.25 marks
  • The total duration of Paper I is 90 minutes for all the candidates except some PwD (cerebral palsy and visually handicapped) candidates, for whom it is 120 minutes.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern-II

  • Qualifiers of SSC MTS Paper I are eligible to write down Paper-II.
  • Paper-II of the SSC MTS exam is a descriptive paper of fifty marks, which tests the candidates’ elementary language skills.
  • SSC MTS Paper-II is mandatory to pass. However, the marks aren't accounted for in the final merit listing.
