Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC JHT Exam every year for recruiting Junior Hindi Translator in the government sectors such as the Central Secretariat Official Language Service, Railway Board, Armed Forces Headquarters and in other subordinate offices. It can be assumed that the notification for SSC JHT 2021 exam will be released on 17th April 2021 on the official website of SSC. On the other hand, the SSC JHT Paper I Computer Based Exam will be conducted probably in August (last week) 2021, whereas the Paper-II Descriptive Test will be organized in November 2021.

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2021

The interested candidates should know more about the SSC JHT Eligibility criteria before you fill the application form.

Age Limit

The candidates, whose age is less than or equal to 30 years as on January 1, 2021, can apply for the SSC JHT 2021 exam. However, the reserved category aspirants will get relaxation in their upper limit of age group.

Nationality

  • Indian Citizens, Or
  • The aspirants should be subject to Bhutan or Nepal, Or
  • The Tibetan Refugee, who had left the country and come to India before January 1, 1962, and if those aspirants would have the intention to permanently settle to India
  • The migratory citizen from Burma, Kenya, Pakistan, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, Vietnam, Ethiopia, who have the intention to permanently settle to India, can apply for the exam.
  • The candidates irrespective of Indian, need to have an eligibility certificate, issued by the Indian Government, can apply for the Junior Hindi Translator (SSC) designation.

Educational Qualification

For Post Codes A to E:

  • The aspirants should complete their Master’s degree in Hindi with English either as an elective subject or as a compulsory subject or as the examination medium, Or
  • Master’s Degree in English with Hindi either as an elective subject or as a compulsory subject or as the medium of examination, Or
  • Needs to complete a Master’s Degree either in Hindi or in English, with Hindi medium and English as an elective subject or as a compulsory subject or as the medium of examination, Or
  • Needs to complete a Master’s Degree either in Hindi or in English, with English Medium and Hindi as the elective subject or compulsory subject or as the examination medium. Or
  • Needs to complete a Master’s Degree either in Hindi or in English, with English Medium and Hindi Medium as an elective subject or as a compulsory subject or either of the two as an examination medium and the elective subject or compulsory subject, AND
  • The candidates have to recognize the Certificate course or Diploma course in translation from English to Hindi and vice versa or need to have two year’s experience (three years for postcode E) of translation work from English to Hindi and vice versa or the State Government Office.

For Post Code F:

  • The students need to complete graduation in Hindi with English as one of the mandatory subjects at degree level as an optional or compulsory subject along with the Master’s degree in any subject. In addition, the candidates have to complete their Bachelor’s degree in Education Degree. Or
  • The aspirants have to complete their graduation in any subject with a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level either as the optional or compulsory subject and the Bachelor of Education Degree. AND
  • On the other hand, the applications require to have two years of experience in teaching Hindi at the Senior Secondary Level under either State or Central Governments or any of the renonwned educational Institutions are also acceptable.

SSC JHT Application Form 2021

  • To fill the SSC JHT Application form 2021, the aspirants have to open the official website, which is ssc.nic.in.
  • At first, the candidates have to complete the registration form and need to provide the basic details and these are the name of the aspirants, father’s name, date of birth, gender, etc.
  • Once you complete the registration process, the registration number and password will be generated.
  • After that, the candidates will have to complete the details like the category, nationality, identity, address to complete the application form fill up process.
  • Next, the aspirants will have to upload the scanned copy of the current photograph and signature.
  • At last, the candidates will need to complete the application fee payment for completing the application form fill up process.

To pay the application fee payment process, the aspirants have to make it through SBI Challan, Credit Card, Debit Card, or through Net Banking.

SSC JHT Exam Pattern 2021

There will be two rounds of SSC JHT examination and these are:

Paper I: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Paper-II: Descriptive Written Test

Paper I

  • Mode of Paper I SSC JHT Exam: Online that is a computer-based test
  • The aspirants will have to answer multiple-choice questions for 100 marks.
  • Time duration: 2 hours
  • For every incorrect answer, the aspirants will get a deduction of 0.25 marks.

Paper-II

  • In the descriptive written test, the aspirants will have to answer two passages. One is the translation of Hindi to English and the other is the translation of English to Hindi
  • The aspirants will have to write essays in English and Hindi apart from doing the passage translation.
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Time Duration: 2 Hours
  • The PWD aspirants will avail a scribe and will get 40 minutes extra time for translating the passages and write both the essays.

The aspirants have to download the SSC JHT Admit Card 2021 from the official website of SSC. There will be separate admit cards for each stage of the recruitment process. The aspirants should remember that no copy will be sent to their postal address or to mail id.

Steps to Download the SSC JHT Admit Card 2021

  • Open the official website of SSC that is ssc.nic.in
  • Now click on the ‘Admit Card’
  • Choose your region
  • After that, you have to click the “Junior Hindi Translator” admit card
  • In the next step, you have to login by using your registered email id and password
  • Once you fill the details, you can see the admit card on the screen
  • Next, you can download your admit card
  • Do not forget to take a print out of the admit card

The SSC authority will publish the SSC JHT result to the official website. To check the result, go through the following content and follow the steps:

  • Click on the Result option and you will receive the PDF Format result
  • On the PDF file, the aspirants will find the roll number, name of the aspirants, etc.
  • The aspirants will find their marks.

The aspirants, who are older in age, will get first preference to be selected. To present the next round of the exam, the aspirants will need to get the minimum cut off score.
