The UPSC IAS Prelims 2020 is going to be conducted on October 4, 2020. The plea for postponement has been dismissed by Supreme Court and it is finalized to be conducted on the pre-assigned date with proper precautions. To assist the students further, the South Central Railways, Vijayawada has announced special trains as well.
Two trains from Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada will be provided for the convenience of the candidates. The train 07233 from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam will depart at 3 PM on October 3, 2020 and reach the destination at 10 PM on the same day. For the return journey, the train will have number 07234 and leave Visakhapatnam at 8:30 PM on October 4, 2020 and reach Vijayawada at 4PM on Monday. Also read- Mask is mandatory in IAS exam centers
The facility will simplify the journey for many candidates whose exam center has been allotted in Visakhapatnam and the additional train will also minimize the chance of overcrowding. The initiative will be definitely welcomed by candidates who will benefit from it. Meanwhile, the hearing of the plea for postponing the exam was scheduled today and eventually it had been dismissed by the Supreme Court. However, the court has also instructed the UPSC to maintain 100 candidates per exam center strictly to prevent crowding and also to give another chance to COVID-19 warriors specifically who will not be able to appear for the exam this year and also it is their last attempt.
