Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission conducted the UPPCS 2020 exam on October 11. The provisional answer key is likely to be released soon on UPPCS official website. In recent years, UPPCS has released prelims provisional answer keys within 2-3 days of examination.
UPPSC will allow all the aspirants to challenge the provisional answer key. Accordingly, PCS will take further actions on queries raised by students on the answer key. After resolving raised issues, UPPCS will release the final official answer key on its official website.
UPPCS exam centers were allocated across the 19 districts of the state. The exam was conducted following all the necessary SOP’s abiding by a regulation issued by MHA. Therefore, the exam was held in Morning and Afternoon shifts. Around 1282 exam centers were registered for the UPPCS examination.

Strength of Students Appeared for Examination
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UPPSC 2020 examination showed a major decline in aspirants sitting for the examination. Only 53.11% of students sit for the examination, marking the lowest in comparison to recent years. A total of 59,5696 aspirants applied for 374 seats but only 3,16,352 aspirants appeared for the UPPCS preliminary examination 2020.
Exam Paper Pattern
Most questions follow the same trend of previous years' examinations. Some questions were directly from previous year question papers. Though most expected ones were absent from UPPCS 2020 paper. Unexpected questions like the ‘HAUSLA-2018’ initiative were surprisingly asked in the examination.
Although the Question paper was perfectly balanced and more oriented to current affairs. There was a provision of negative marking. 1/3 marks were deducted for every wrong answer.
