December 14, 2020: Calcutta High Court has directed West Bengal Central School Service Commission to start afresh selection process for Assistant Teacher recruitment for upper primary schools in the states.

Additionally, Calcutta High Court on December 11, 2020, has ordered the West Bengal Central School Service Commission to cancel the previous selection for the recruitment WB Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2020 process.

Keeping in mind the petitions filed against the selection process for Assistant Teacher recruitment by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission, Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya directs the commission to start afresh.

A number of petitions were filed seeking cancelation of the selection process, as the ground rules were not followed by the recruitment commissions.

As per the court decision, the fresh selection process will begin for selected candidates as per the eligibility criteria, and the selection process set by the commission.

“This court deems it fit to cancel and set aside the selection process for appointment of candidates to the posts of assistant teachers for upper primary level schools in the state pursuant to the notification published for the said posts on September 23, 2016", the court stated.

WB Central School Service Commission Assistant Teachers Recruitment Highlights

The High Court further added that the recruitment commission will start the verification process of TET certificates along with academic and professional qualifications under the West Bengal School Service Commission.

The process will begin with the West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection for Appointment to the Posts of Teachers for Upper Primary Level of Schools) Rules, 2016.

The interview list will be published for the recruitment on May 10, and the merit list will be released soon within the eight weeks after the release of the interview round. The selection process for the same will begin for candidates before July 31, 2020.
