November 20, 2020: Punjab State Post Office is inviting applications for engagement as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the Punjab circle post offices. This recruitment is taking place to fill in 516 Gramin Dak Sevaks posts. The online registration will be closing on December 11, 2020.

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - Minimum Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA)

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - Age Limit

The candidate must be between the age of 18 - 40 years as on November 12, 2020. There will be a relaxation of three years for candidates belonging to OBC category and for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, a relaxation of five years will be provided. 

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - Educational Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a certificate of passing Secondary School Examination of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/ State Governments/ Union Territories in India.
  • Must have a compulsory knowledge of the local language, i.e., Punjabi.
  • Candidates should have Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government / State Government / Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations (OR) Computer as a subject in Matriculation or Class XII or any other higher educational level.

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - Residence

The candidates who are selected for the post of GDS BPM will have to take up their residence in the Branch Post Office Village, Punjab within a month of their selection and before their engagement as Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The candidates will have to submit an application declaring the same. The candidates who are selected for the posts other than GDS BPM will need to reside in post village/delivery jurisdiction.

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - Selection Process

The selection process will be based on the automatically generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications. There is no weightage provided for higher-level qualifications. Only the marks obtained in 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection.

Punjab Post Office Recruitment 2020 - How to Apply?

Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the recruitment through the online portal of the commission @appost.in/gdsonline. Only one registration per candidate is to be made. The registration number provided during the registration process is to be kept safe for later use in the recruitment process.
