The authority started the RRB NTPC 2021 exam stage 1 on January 4 in CBT mode. Aspirants who clear the qualifying cut-off marks are then allowed to appear for the Computer-Based Test (Stage 2 round). The officials previously declared that phase 2 will begin on January 16. Stage 2 will be carried on till January 30, 2021.

The exam consists of 100 questions, each carrying one mark. Hence the total marks for the paper were 100. The paper was divided into 3 sections namely Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness. Refer to the following table to get the difficulty level of the shift paper.
