Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced that the RRB NTPC recruitment exam will be conducted from December 28 till the end of March, 2021. While it has also been declared that the RRB level-1 exam (for points man, track maintainers, and various other level-1 posts) will be held from the 1st week of April 2021 till the end of June 2021. In a press conference on December 1, RRB chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav announced the exam dates of the RRB NTPC and group D recruitment 2021. 

Earlier, it was notified by the RRB authorities that the RRB isolated and Ministerial categories exam will be conducted between December 15 and 18, 2020. Now, the RRB authorities have planned to reduce the burden of the travel distance and time of the candidates by allotting exam centres within the state of their residence. Also, Special trains will be functioned for these candidates.

It has been notified that a total of 2.44 crore candidates have applied for 1.4 lakh vacancies that were released under RRB CEN 01/2019. 

RRB Chairman said that in the view of the pandemic covid-19 circumstances, the board has decided to implement this initiative of introducing special trains for the candidates who will travel to appear for the exams and the board will ensure that they follow the necessary covid-19 protocols. Once the RRB NTPC Exam ends in March 2021, RRB level-1 exam will commence from the 1st week of April 2021.

It was earlier notified that a total of 35,208 vacancies for posts such as guards, commercial clerk, office clerk, etc are available under NTPC. While 1,03,769 vacancies are available for the Level-1 posts and 1,663 vacant seats are under the isolated and ministerial categories (Stenographer, teachers, and others). Nearly 1.15 crore applications have been received for the 1. 03 lakh vacancies for the Level-1 posts and 1.26 applications received for the 35k vacancies for the RRB NTPC recruitment 2020.
