The RRB NTPC 2020 tier-1 exam is going to be among the first to be replaced by the Common Eligibility Test. The test will be conducted separately for graduate, 10th and 12th pass respectively.

As for now, the National Recruitment Agency will be working together with SSC, RRB and IBPS. The NRA aims to shortlist the candidates for group B and C government posts which are non-technical. The RRB NTPC is also conducted for the recruitment of non-technical staffs who are graduate or undergraduate. Thus the tier-1 of the exam will now be done through CET exam. This means, the candidates who have the NRA CET rank, will directly have to appear for Tier-II/III of the exam conducted by RRB. The CET is going to be conducted twice every year and the standard curriculum will be followed. It will be conducted in 15 regional languages of the country and the score will be valid for three years. Since there is no limitation to the number of times the candidates can appear for CET, they can appear even after acquiring the CET score. The best score within three years will be considered for recruitment by the different recruitment boards as well as for RRB NTPC 2020.
