December 23, 2020: The RRB NTPC 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted from December 28, 2020. With only a few days remaining for the exam, here are some last-minute preparation tips that can help the candidates with the RRB NTPC 2020 Exam.

The Railway Recruitment Board will be conducting the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment examination starting from December 28, 2020. An approximate of 23 lakh candidates are expected to appear in the first stage computer-based test (CBT) scheduled to be held till January 13, 2021. This is one of the most anticipated exams. The high number of vacancies and the number of applicants, the competition will be tough. With only a few days left for the exam, here are some last-minute preparation tips that can help the candidates with the RRB NTPC 2020 Exam.

Section-wise Preparation Tips

Following are some tips for preparing the different sections for the RRB NTPC 2020 Exam:

General Awareness

Despite being a vast section to cover, this is also one of the high scoring sections in the RRB exam. Candidates should memorise important topics from History, Geography, and Current Affairs considering the questions from this section are factual. Go through the basics from NCERT books for Science, Economics and Political Science.

Mathematics

For this section, prepare topics as per the trends of previous years’ papers. Learn shortcut tricks apart from practising the chapters thoroughly as they will help you solve the sums quickly. You need to be very thorough with formulae, tables, squares, cubes, square roots, cube roots. Refer NCERT books in order to clear the basic concepts.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

This section requires a lot of practice. The most difficult topics of this section are coding-decoding and puzzles. For puzzles, you can follow books such as A Modern Approach to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal, New Approach to Reasoning Verbal, Non-Verbal and Analytical by BS Sijwali and Indu Sijwali. Solving mock tests will be a great practice for this section.

RRB NTPC 2020 last-minute preparation - General Tips and Tricks

  • Go through all the previous years’ question papers. This will help in analysing where you stand in terms of preparation.
  • Going through the previous question papers will also help you identify the recurring topics and questions. Prepare those thoroughly.
  • Try and get all the Mathematical formulae at your fingertips.
  • Practice and mock tests help in improving speed and accuracy.
  • Do not hurry to complete the uncovered portions. Instead, strengthen the topics that you have already learned.
  • Take a quick review of everything you have studied before the exam.
  • Try to attempt questions with accuracy in the exam. Remember there is negative marking. Solving 70-80% questions with 100% accuracy is better than solving 100% questions with 70-80% accuracy.
  • Do not attempt questions that you are not sure of.
  • Do not spend much time in one section.
