December 28, 2020: As per Home Minister's statement, Maharashtra Government is expected to release the Recruitment notice for 5,295 vacancies available under police constable posts soon. As per Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s statement, “A total of 12,000 posts of police constables will be filled in the state police. 5,295 such posts will be filled in the first phase very soon. Necessary orders will be issued to unit commanders”.
Maharashtra Government has a total of 12,000 posts vacancies available under the Police Constable role, out of which, recruitment notice for 5295 vacancies will commence soon.

Deshmukh, an MLA from the Katol constituency in the Nagpur district, stated that a horse-mounted police unit is expected to be set up in Nagpur district, in which Police Personnel will be handed a body camera.
He further added that Nagpur city has reported an increase in the number of cases in comparison to last year’s data. As per the National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) 2019 data, Nagpur has recorded a higher crime rate in comparison to the one lakh population.
“Against 90 murders in 2019, Nagpur city registered 88 murders. 127 robberies were registered this year as against 147 such cases recorded last year. A total of 21 chain- snatchings were reported this year compared to 56 last year", He added.
