Furthermore, these two papers will consist of 50% objective questions and 50% descriptive questions. The Candidates will be required to type the answer to such questions. As per the earlier pattern, paper 1 and 3 consisted of only objective-type questions. As per the new pattern, there are no changes in RBI Grade B (phase I). Also, paper 2 of phase II is descriptive as earlier. This paper consists of 100 marks in total.
Apart from the pattern, the Bank has also announced changes in the duration of the exam. 30 minutes will be allotted for the objective paper while 90 minutes will be provided for descriptive questions; hence making it to a total of 120 minutes of paper. As per the earlier structure, the total time allotted was 90 minutes due to the objective questions being asked.
For the 50% objective part of papers 1 and 3 of phase II, there will be a total of 30 questions being asked. For the rest of the 50% which is descriptive, 6 questions will be asked to the aspirants. Out of these six questions, candidates are required to attempt only 4 questions.
These four questions are further bifurcated into two questions of 15 marks and 2 questions of 10 marks. If a candidate attempts more than four questions in the descriptive part, then the first four attempted questions will be taken into consideration.
RBI has also added a special test called Psychometric Test in the recruitment for all the posts. This is compulsory for the candidates to take as it will be considered for final selection. Though, the test does not carry marks. Apart from this, the interview marks have been cut down to 50 from 75.
These changes were made before the commencement of the RBI exams. The application window for RBI Grade B 2021 will be active till February 15, 2021. Phase I is scheduled to be conducted on March 6, 2021. Paper-II and III for DEPR and DSIM are planned to be held on March 31, 2021. The Reserve Bank has also released the dates for the Phase-II exam for the General post, which will be conducted on April 1.
