March 10, 2021: Indian Air Force has released the result for AFCAT 01/2021 on its official website at All the candidates who had appeared for the exam can check their individual results through their login credentials.

The Indian Air Force had released the admit for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2021 on February 5, 2021. The IAF AFCAT Exam was conducted on February 20, 21, and 22, 2021. 

All the candidates who have cleared the test will receive a call letter for the IAF. They will have to, then, repost to one of the Air Force Selection Boards located in Mysore, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, and Varanasi. Upon their reporting, the candidates will have to undergo several tests in order to prove themselves and suitable and show their potential as an officer in the Indian Air Force.

Tests after clearing the AFCAT

Stage 1 Testing

  • Officer Intelligence Rating Test
  • Picture Perception and Discussion Test

Disqualified students of this round cannot sit for Stage 2 Testing.

Stage 2 Testing

These tests are conducted over a period of 4-5 days.

  • Written Psychological test conducted by a psychologist.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Group Tests as a combination of mental and physical work.
  • A personal Interview with an Interviewing Officer.
  • Candidates recommended for the flying branch have to undergo the CPSS (Computerised Pilot Selection System) test.

Recommended candidates after this stage go for the third stage of Medical Testing.

Stage 3 Testing

  • The recommended candidates of the Selection Board undergo medical testing at either Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi, or Institution of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru.

Stage 4 Merit List

  • A merit list is prepared of the candidates who are seen to be medically fit, based on their performance in the written test and the AFSB Interview.
  • After the merit list is prepared, instructions to join one of the training institutions are issued on the basis of the number of vacancies in all the branches and sub-branches.

The AFCAT is conducted twice a year by the Indian Air Force. For joining all the branches except NDA and CDS, the candidates can take this exam.
