State Council of Educational Research and Training, Uttarakhand, is responsible for:

  • Convening the state-level NTSE Stage I test
  • Release of Answer Key
  • Evaluation of the Test
  • Publishing Results and Cut-Off Score
  • Declaration of the names of candidates shortlisted for the national-level NTSE Stage II.

Uttarakhand NTSE 2018: Question Paper

The NTSE Stage I question paper is divided into 3 sections: Language Comprehension Test (LCT), Mental Ability Test (MAT), and Scholastic Ability test (SAT). Given below are the details of distribution of questions, maximum marks and time allotted.

Each correct answer in the exam carries 1 mark. Also, there is no provision for negative marking in the state level test.

MAT and SAT sections in the NTSE Stage I question paper have multiple choice questions with 4 alternatives. Candidates have to mark the correct answer to each question on the OMR Sheet.

The LCT section is qualifying in nature and the marks scored in this section are not additive to the candidates’ total score. LCT is not considered as a decisive factor in the final state-level merit list.

The MAT section evaluates candidates’ reasoning skills, ability to think and judge independently, spatial orientation etc. Questions in this section are based on analogies, series, pattern perception, coding-decoding, problem-solving etc.

The SAT section assesses candidates’ academic knowledge and covers the subjects of Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences of Class IX and X level.

Uttarakhand NTSE 2018: Answer Key

NTSE answer keys with the solutions for Stage I is hosted on the Uttarakhand NTSE official website scert.uk.gov.in, after the exam is over.

  • Candidates can retrieve their individual OMR sheets hosted on the website and compare the answers which they submitted in the exam with the official answer key.
  • Candidates can also challenge the answer key, backed by substantial proof. Based on that, a revised set of answer key is uploaded on the official website.
  • This final answer key forms the basis for the NTSE Results. The answer key aims to help the candidates in checking their answers and get an idea of the score they might attain.

Uttarakhand NTSE 2018 Results are available to download on the official website. Candidates can access their result in the following steps:

  • Click the NTSE Result 2018 tab.
  • Enter candidate’s roll number.
  • The result will be displayed on-screen.

Uttarakhand NTSE 2018: Cut-Off Scores

Cut-Off Score is the minimum score that candidates need to score in the exam, in order to qualify for Stage II exam. The cut-off scores are charted, considering variables like:

  • Difficulty level of examination
  • Regulation of the exam conducting authority
  • Previous Year cutoff trends
  • Number of Students Attempting the Paper
