NTSE 2016 Question Paper Analysis

Unlike previous years, there were some ambiguous questions in NTSE 2016 exam. One question in MAT and four in SAT. Overall, NTSE was easy to moderate at level of difficulty. It has very direct and conceptual questions from class 9 and class 10 levels. However, NTSE 2016 seemed to be lengthy despite being moderately easy.

All subjects were of easy and moderate level. Physics and Social Science and Chemistry were on the tougher side compared with MAT, LAT and Mathematics. Biology was also a little bit difficult. A subject wise analysis on the scale of level of difficulty of NTSE 2016 is as follows:

Subject Difficulty Level
Physics Moderate
Chemistry Moderate
Biology Moderate
Mathematics Easy
Social Science Difficult
MAT Easy
LAT Easy
Overall Moderate

Overall, the paper is considered slightly easier than the last year. Hence the cut off should slightly increase from last year in all categories as it is inversely proportional to level of difficulty of exam.
