NTSE or National Talent Search Examination is a 2-stage selection process conducted for awarding scholarships to deserving candidates. Every year around 1.5 lakh candidates appear for the exam out of which only 1000 candidates are awarded the scholarships.

The question paper is divided into 3 papers MAT (Mental Ability Test) SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and LCT (Language Comprehension Test).

LCT (Language Comprehension Test) is a qualifying exam in nature. This section won’t be included as a decisive factor for merit list of stage I.

For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 1 mark. There is no provision of negative marking in stage 1 NTSE exam.
