UPSC Civil Services Result 2016 to be released in February

UPSC Result is expected to be declared in February, 2017. All the candidates who successfully clear the UPSC Civil Services Mains will face personal Interview before getting recruited. The exam was conducted from December 3 to 9, 2016 and over 2 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam. The final result is expected by May 2017.

Commission recruits candidates in 1079 posts of administrative position in Services Group A and Group B. Preliminary phase of the exam was the first stage. Candidates who cleared the Preliminary phase appeared for the Mains. Candidates who will qualify the UPSC Civil Services IAS Mains Exam 2016 will be called for Personality test/ Interview. UPSC civil services mains result 2016 will be calculated out of total marks 1750. Candidates have to score a minimum of 25 per cent in Indian language and English papers, after which their essay, general studies and optional subject papers will be evaluated.

How to Check UPSC Civil Services Mains 2016 Result?

UPSC Result is expected to be declared in February, 2017. Candidates can go through following steps to download their result as mentioned below:

  2. Under 'what’s new' click on 'Final result – Civil Services Mains’ 2016.
  3. A PDF file will open displaying the list of selected candidates along with rules and regulations regarding the result.
  4. Check the roll number and name
  5. Download the same and take a print out for future reference.

Candidates have to secure minimum marks as per their category to qualify the exam. The cut off score is the minimum marks which is decided by UPSC to select candidates for next stage of selection process. The expected cut off marks for UPSC Mains 2016 is given below:

UPSC Civil Services Interview Procedure

After the Main examination result or merit list only qualified candidates will have to go through the next procedure that is Interview. Later, they will be designated as IAS, IPS, IFS, & IRS. After this interview UPSC will publish the final results of the Civil Service Exams in May, 2017.

The interview board will ask questions based on matters related to general interests. The purpose of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidates for career in public service board. UPSC Civil Services interview is intended to judge the mental caliber of candidates, not only his intellectual qualities but also social traits and their interests in current affairs. Some of the qualities which will be judged at interview are mental alertness, critical power of assimilation, clear and logical expositions, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion, and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.

UPSC Recruitment 2017 General Instructions

Candidate should know about the general instructions of UPSC. They can check the following points which are given below:

  • The candidates would be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims relating to age, educational qualifications, community, physical disability etc. before joining.
  • The candidates are also required to bring the printed copy of the DAF along with original documents and a photocopy on the day of joining.
  • No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Union Public Service Commission has a Facilitation Counter at its campus. Candidate may obtain information/ clarification regarding their result on working days between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM in person or over telephone Nos. (011)-23385271/23381125/23098543 from this counter.
