UPSC Recruitment 2020- Application Process begins for several vacancies

The Union Public Service Commission has invited application from Eligible candidates to fill up 204 vacancies for Assistant Professor, Assistant Engineer, Assistant Director and Livestock Officer. Applications can be submitted through the official website of upsc.gov.in.

The last date to submit the online application is October 1, 2020. The following are the different posts and relevant vacancies for the same.

  • Livestock officer- 3 vacancies- The required qualification is Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry with three years’ experience in Cattle and Livestock development or Animal Health, Poultry or Meat products.

  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Epidemiology)- 1
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant professor (General Surgery)- 54
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Microbiology or Bacteriology)- 15
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Nephrology)- 12
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Pathology)- 17
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Paediatric Nephrology)- 3
  • Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Pharmacology)- 11
  • Assistant Director Census Operation (Technical)- 25
  • Assistant Engineer- 1

The basic eligibility criteria for Assistant Professor is MBBS degree from a recognized institute and a minimum of three years of experience as Senior Resident or Tutor/ Demonstrator/Assistant Professor/ Lecturer/ Registrar in the relevant specialty.

The basic eligibility criteria for Assistant Director Census Operation is Master’s Degree in Statistics, Operation Research or Mathematics/ Commerce/Anthropology with Statistics/ Sociology with Statistics and Demography with Statistics from any recognized University. Besides this, the candidate must have three years of experience in collection, tabulation, analysis, and compilation of tabular data.

For the post of Assistant Engineer, the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Drilling, Mining or Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/ Petroleum Technology. Along with this, they must have 1 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of Automobile machines and equipment. Alternately, they can also have 1 year of experience in the operation and maintenance of Drilling rigs.

UPSC is in charge of recruiting eligible candidates for several departments in the Central Government and apart from yearly and bi-yearly popular recruitment exams, such advertisements are occasionally published too.
