UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) invites Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for recruitment of Assistant Director, Hindi Typing & Hindi Stenography in Central Hindi Training Institute, Department of official language, Ministry of Home affairs. Typewriting test in Hindi @ 40 W.P.M. and short-hand test in Hindi @ 100 W.P.M. will be held on February 12, 2017 at UPSC Examination halls building, UPSC, Dholpur house, Shahjahan road, New Delhi.

Candidates can apply for the post through the online mode only. They have to read all the instructions carefully before start filling online application. Selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of marks secured by them in the entrance test followed by an interview. Candidates who secure more than or equal to cutoff marks are shortlisted for interview. Candidates have to check their eligibility before registering for the entrance examination.

UPSC provides reservation and relaxation to physically challenged persons with disabilities like orthopedically/ handicapped/ locomotor disability/ cerebral palsy with one leg affected (right or left) or partially deaf. These are the permanent posts.

The total number of vacancies that are reserved for Assistant Director, Hindi Typing & Hindi Stenography is 4. Candidates pay scale for this post lies between INR 15600-39,100/- plus Grade pay amount of INR 5400/-.

The eligibility criteria of UPSC Recruitment is discussed below:

Essential Qualification

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with Hindi as one of the compulsory subject or with Hindi Medium


      Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with Hindi as one of the compulsory subjects at 10 plus 2 level.

  1. Proficiency in Hindi stenography with speed of 100 words per minute in Hindi shorthand and 40 words per minute in Hindi typewriting.
  2. One year diploma or certificate course in Hindi typewriting and Hindi Stenography conducted by Industrial Training Institute or other institutions under the aegis of the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)or training imparted by the institute of State Governments or Union territories.

Experience - Five years’ experience in Hindi stenography including Hindi typewriting.

Desirable Qualification

  1. Two years experience in organizing classes in Hindi stenography including Hindi typewriting in a recognized Institution.
  2. Working knowledge of computer including Hindi software related to Hindi typing.

How to Apply

Candidates have to visit the official website of UPSC i.e. and check for the notification of application form submission. Fill the application form with legit information without skipping any.

  1. Give your correct personal details like Name, DOB, Parent’s Name, Address, Contact information.
  2. Fill up the academic details like qualification, courses, grade, institution name, etc.
  3. Candidates have to enter their work experience details as well.
  4. After filling the details applicants have to upload the scanned copy of the following documents-
  • certificates relating to educational qualification,
  • Date of Birth,
  • Experience,
  • Photograph
  1. The file size of the documents must not exceed 2MB and should be scaled and resized in the prescribed format.
  2. After filling the form candidate has to do the payment either online or offline (at the nearest SBI branch).
  3. On final submission of the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) candidates are advised to take a print out of the same.

Selection process

Depending upon the number of application received, the Commission will shortlist the candidates to a reasonable number for the interview through either of the following methods.

  1. On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) as prescribed for the post in the advertisement.
  2. On the basis of higher experience in the applicable field as prescribed for the post in the advertisement.
  3. By conducting a recruitment test.
