February 26, 2021: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Exams were conducted as per the prescribed exam calendar across the country despite the coronavirus pandemic. The exam data represented by the exam authority recorded no reduction in the number of applicants, despite the pandemic.

UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exams 2020 was conducted across 72 cities across the country and at 2,569 centers. The recruitment conducting body has conducted the examination on time, without any delay by also keeping in mind the safety of applicants.

UPSC Exam 2021: Date Comparison 

In accordance with the data represented by the recruiting body, Union Public Service Commission to the Supreme Court, the number of applicants who registered for the examination, and who appeared for the same was recorded to be similar to the last year’s data.

As per the data, the average numbers of students who applied for UPSC Exam 2021 during the pre-corona time, and post-corona times have recorded minor changes. 

Despite the coronavirus pandemic situation in the country, the number of candidates who applied for the examination remained the same.

One of the reasons for less reduction in applicants was said to be the facility offered by the examination body to change exam centers during the post-pandemic times. 

Additionally, due to the pandemic, the examination body has released a new exam calendar for various examinations and has combined the NDA, NA (I), and (II) exam of 2020.
