UPSC has released notification inviting eligible candidates for filling up of assistant commandant posts in CISF. The recruitment exam will be held on March 4 to fill 29 vacancies. Candidates can check the detailed notification at

  • Candidates need to be graduates from a government recognized university, Institute of college. Check CISF Assistant Commandant Eligibility
  • Candidates should have experience of four years of regular service as on January 1, 2018 in the Sub Inspector (GD) / Inspector (GD) rank.
  • Aspirants selected for UPSC can get the Pay Scale of INR 15600 with a Grade Pay of INR 5400 + Dearness Allowances (DA) of INR 26250. 
  • Age rule relaxation will be as per government rules.
  • Candidates will have to pass a written test, followed by a physical and medical standard test as well as a personality test. Check CISF Assistant Commandant Selection Process

CISF Assistant Commandant Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be graduate from a recognized University
  • NCC B or C certificate holders will be given preference during interview round
  • Maximum 3 attempts are allowed

Age limit: Candidate must be born on or after August 2, 1983. Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable as per Government rules.

How to Apply for UPSC CISF Assistant Commandant?

Candidates can apply online on the official website before the last date of form submission i.e. December 29, 2017. The basic registration steps are as follows: -

  1. Visit official website i.e.
  2. On the right side, under what’s new section click on CISF AC (EXE) LDCE 2018 notification
  3. Read the instructions carefully
  4. Click on recruitment tab and apply with online recruitment application form
  5. Fill the required details asked in the application form
  6. Print a hard copy of application form

Lastly, send the duly filled application form to the concerned authorities on the following address-

Note: - Reserved category candidates are exempted from the application fee

CISF Assistant Commandant Exam Pattern

The exams consist of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper-1 will be General Awareness and Intelligence test and Paper 2 will be English Proficiency test.

Exam Pattern Highlights for Paper-1

  • Exam duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Questions will be of multiple choice based
  • Medium of Questions will be English or Hindi depending upon candidate’s preference
  • Maximum marks will be 30
  • The question papers will be divided into 2 parts as follows

Exam Pattern Highlights for Paper-2

Paper 2 is conducted to check candidate’s writing skills. They will be asked to write essays, precis and comprehension

  • Medium of Exam will be English only
  • Maximum marks will be 100
  • Exam will be of 2 Hours duration

CISF Assistant Commandant Selection Process

Selection Process involves a written test followed by physical test and medical standard test. Both the tests are qualifying in nature and will be conducted by CISF

In Physical Efficiency Test, candidates have to perform following activities. Note that this test is only qualifying. Its marks will not be added in final selection.

CISF Assistant Commandant Cut off

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper 1 and Paper-2 for next rounds.
