January 30, 2021: President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the general youth and the job seekers of the nation in the parliamentary sitting highlighting various points of interest. In his speech, Kovind appreciated the efforts of the government in conducting various recruitment and entrance exams considering the ongoing COVID crisis. This prevented a long delay in the recruitment process.

Apart from this, the academic year of many students also got saved. Science entrance exams like JEE and NEET were conducted very successfully in an orderly manner to ensure that there is no postponement of education.

Not only the pandemic, but various protests and disputes also placed an obstacle in scheduling these exams. But the government came out stronger and held these exams. The President further said that a major relief was provided to JEE Mains candidates. It was decided that the number of attempts will be doubled every year. Similarly for the NEET exam, the decision is in process.

The president in an optimistic tone stated that NEP also aims to provide accessible and affordable education to socially and economically backward class students. In this light, various students across the country are taking advantage of government scholarships and schemes. The Union government has also improved the specifications of Post matric scholarships.

Initiatives like Eklavya Model Residential Schools have also been planned, that aim to uplift the tribal students’ education. Certain government bodies have stopped the interview process for the recruitment of candidates to Group C and D posts. This has also benefited the youth. This simplifies the recruitment procedure of various departments and organizations.
