The Odisha Public Service Commission has postponed the OPSC Civil Service Mains Exam for 2019 to November, in light of the restrictions due to COVID-19. Earlier the exam was scheduled for September. The state government of Odisha have imposed several restrictions to control the spread of the virus and keeping that in mind, the decision has been taken by the board. As per OPSC, the date for November 2020 is tentative and is subject to change based on the further instructions and guidelines shared by the government. OPSC conducts all the recruitment exams for the state of Odisha every year to fill the state-level vacancies in the public sector with eligible candidates. The Odisha Civil Service exam is the most popular and prestigious of all these exams and it is conducted once every year. There are three stages of the exam- Prelims, Mains, and interview. The syllabus and exam pattern is somewhat similar to the central equivalent which is the IAS exam. The Mains exam is a conventional pen and a paper exam and candidates who have qualified Prelims are eligible for the same. The final Merit list is prepared based on the marks secured in Mains and the interview round.
