UPSC has kept the reserve list for UPSC 2019 confidential. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), President of M.K. Stalin raised question regarding the list which consists of 98 names of candidates who have cleared the IAS 2019 exam. he also stated further that the 10% reservation for economically Backward Class affects the prospects of OBC, ST and SC. Only 829 names were released for the exam against 927 vacancies available which was notified earlier. The list of 829 candidates is the final merit list prepared based on the Mains exam and the interview result. Also Read- UPSC Cut-off Released.

DMK also pointed out that the cut-off for EWS or Economically Backward Class is 696 which is lower than 699 for ST, 705 for SC and 718 for OBC. This means, the chances of qualifying the exam for the reserved category candidates gets significantly lower compared to the EWS.
