Railways Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially decided to conduct the Computer-based tests to fill in 1.4 lakh posts by following all the necessary covid-19 protocols including the minimum travel time to the exam centers for all the registered 2.44 crore candidates. 

Candidates are required to wear masks and gloves and they've to sign a self-declaration form stating that they are fit to appear for the exam. The first round of the RRB Exam will be conducted from December 15 to 18 and the next round of exam will be conducted from December 28 till the end of March 2021, and the third round will be conducted till the end of June 2021. 

As per the press reports, Anand S Khati, Director General, HR, Railway Board, said that the candidates will have to provide a self-declaration form stating that they are fit and fine to sit for the exams and are negative to Covid-19.

It was also notified by the Director General, Khati that the candidates while entering the exam center will be checked with a thermo gun and if their temperature is beyond the limit, the exam of the candidates will be rescheduled to ensure safety of the other candidates. The candidates have been accommodated within their states or at the exam centers that will require travel charges especially for women examinees and Divyangs.

RRB will release the exam admit card 4 days before the commencement of the exam on its official regional railway websites and communications/notification for the next phases will be notified in due course of time. Also, Special trains for the candidates taking up the RRB exams will be functioned and cater to the needs of the candidates.

The concerned chief secretaries of the state government have also been requested to extend their support to RRBs for holding the Computer-based tests in a safe and secure manner while ensuring social distancing. 

Further, Khati added that the provisions of the mock tests before conducting the actual exam would provide the examinee an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the process of CBT tests. Also, there will be no interviews conducted, but the selection process of the candidates will be done entirely based on the merit obtained in the exam.

Moreover, the entire process from conducting the RRB exams to handing over the appointment letters to the candidates will approximately take around a year to complete, he said.
