RRB Recruitment: Apply for 14 Group C and D posts (Scouts and Guides Quota)

The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway, has published a recruitment notification for Group C and D against Scouts and Guides Quota. The notification for RRB Recruitment was released on its official website. All the aspiring candidates are notified to check the notification bulletin from the website of Indian Railway and can also fill the application form of RRB online.

Candidates are advised to apply for the post of Group C and D (Scouts and Guides) before December 20, 2016. The total number of posts available for Group C and D are different. For Group C, the total number of posts are 02 and for Group D a total number of posts available are 12. Aspirants are informed to check their eligibility before applying for RRB 2017.


RRB Recruitment: Exam Dates

Here is the list of important dates related to Railway Recruitment. Candidates are required to submit the application form on or before the declared dates.

RRB Recruitment: Eligibility

Candidates are instructed to check their eligibility before applying for the RRB 2017. The eligibility criteria for each group i.e. Group C and D is different. Candidates can find below the criterion for both the groups in detail.

Group C

  • Candidates who are willing to apply for the Indian Railway Recruitment have to have 10th/ 12th / ITI or equivalent qualification with Scout & Guide certification.
  • It is necessary for the candidate to have a certificate of Scouts/ Guides/ Rover/ Ranger/ or Himalaya Wood Badge holder.
  • Candidates must have an experience of 5 years as a member of Scout and should have actively participated in at least 2 State Level events, Indian Railway’s events, and National level events.
  • The age limit of the candidates is specified separately for different reserved categories. The lower age limit for all candidates is 18 years for all the posts.

Group D

  • Candidates who are willing to apply for RRB, must have 10th/ ITI or equivalent qualification with Scout & Guide certification.

How to Apply for RRB Recruitment?

The process to apply for RRB Recruitment is very easy to follow. Candidates must note that the application form of the Railway Exam is to be filled online. One must complete each step very carefully and accurately. Here the few easy steps to complete the registration process.

  • RRB 2017 application form is available online on the official website of RRB
  • Candidates are required to visit the website and look for “14 Group C and D” vacancy notification link.
  • Click on the link and start filling the RRB 2017 online application form.
  • While filling the form, keep the 10th/12th/ ITI certificate, Scouts & Guides certificate, and other essential documents along, to fill the details accurately.
  • Save the form on completion and take the hard copy of the same and proceed for the payment.
  • Once the payment is done, candidates are required to send the hard copy to the Railway Recruitment Cell before the closing date of application form submission.
  • If a candidate belongs to the general category he/she has to pay Rs.500 as application fee, and if the candidate belongs to any reserved category he/she has to pay Rs.250 as application fee.

RRB Recruitment: Exam Pattern

The railway exam has three stages to clear. Starting with the written test, followed by Scouting skills assessment and Scouts & Guides certification.

The written test is of 50 marks with 40 multiple choice objective type questions of 40 marks and 1 descriptive question of 10 marks. All the questions are based on General awareness, Logical Reasoning, Aptitude and Scouts and Guides knowledge.


RRB Recruitment: Selection Process

Candidates who applied in response to notification issued and found eligible after scrutiny will be called for written examination. The candidates qualified in written test will have to undergo the Scouting Skill Assessment and Certificates verification. Panel will be formed as per merit position of successful candidates.
