RRB has released the notification for various posts in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix on behalf of RRCs (Railway Recruitment Cells). Online application process has been started from March 12, 2019.

  • The lower and upper age limit is 18 to 33 years respectively. Check Eligibility

RRB Recruitment 2019- Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria can apply:

  1. Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  2. Age limit of various categories are given below:

  1. Candidates must have passed class 10 or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT

RRB Recruitment 2019- Reservation

RRB recruitment follows the reservation policies as per Government guidelines. A brief description is given below:

  1. Vertical Reservation: This reservation is for candidates who belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC)- Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories. For availing it, candidates must have caste certificate from the competent authorities at the time of document verification.
  2. EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Reservation: Candidates whose family gross annual income is below Rs 8 Lakh (Rupees eight lakh) will be considered for benefit of EWS reservation. The income includes income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application.

Candidates whose family owns or possesses any of the following assets will be excluded from being identified as EWS, irrespective of family income:

  • 5 acres of agricultural land and above,
  • Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above,
  • Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities,
  • Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities
  1. Horizontal Reservation: This reservation I applicable to Ex-Servicemen (ExSM), Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) trained in Railway Establishments and Person with Disabilities (PwBD) irrespective of their community.

Note: All the candidates seeking reservation must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed.


How to Apply for RRB Recruitment 2019?

Candidates can fill the application form through online mode only. Last date of submitting the application form is April 12, 2019. Check the following steps to fill the application form:

  1. Visit the official website i.e. rrbcdg.gov.in
  2. Click on “Level 1 post” link.
  3. Select railway of your choice carefully because railway once selected cannot be changed after registration
  4. Read all the information and instruction then register.
  5. Verify your email ID and mobile number through OTP.
  6. After getting Registration Number and password, click on the “Already Registered”
  7. Fiil the application form with correct details.
  8. Pay application fee.
  9. Upload scanned document like photograph, signature, SC/ST Certificate, Scribe Photo in a specified format
  10. Click on submit button and take a printout for future use.

Application Fee:

Candidates who apply for the post in CEN have to pay the application fee as per their categories are given below:

  • For general/OBC categories: INR 500
  • For concession categories: INR 250

Candidates can pay application fee through internet banking or debit/credit card/UPI or SBI Challan.

Note: INR 400 will be refunded to general/OBC candidates from after appearing in CBT and full amount to reserved categories.


RRB Recruitment 2019- Exam Pattern

  • The online exam consists of 100 objective type questions.
  • Duration of the exam will be 90 minutes and 120 minutes for PwBD candidates.
  • Negative marking will be applicable.
  • The question will be asked from general science, mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness and current affairs.

RRB Recruitment 2019- Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be based on merit. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in CBT (Computer Based Test). Qualified candidates will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 3 times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs.

PET will be followed by document verification and medical examination. Candidates can check the details of DV and ME below:

  1. Document Verification: CBT qualified candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates have to verify all the document like eligibility conditions, valid cast certificate, academic qualification etc.

Note: In case the appointed candidates found to not fulfill the requisite criteria, RBs/RRCs may reject the candidature of any applicant at any stage of the recruitment process.

  1. Medical Examination: Candidates called for document verification will have to pass requisite fitness test scheduled by Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. The medical requirements against different medical standards are outlined below:

The criteria of PET for female and male candidates are given below:

Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
