Apply for Group C posts under RRC Mumbai Central Railway through RRB Recruitment

The Railway Recruitment Cell Mumbai Central has released job opening to accommodate deserving candidates for the vacancy of Group C Posts through RRB Recruitment. The Group C posts include Technical and Non-Technical cadre posts like Clerk, Ticket Collector, Station Master, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice and Engineering posts (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Signal & Telecommunication) etc. Candidates can apply for the job by filling and submitting an online application through official website. Candidates can start filling the online application form December 20, 2016 till January 3, 2017. Candidates are suggested to keep a regular check of the official website. The Exams are scheduled to be held from March to May 2016

Every year, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) offers jobs for different posts. Currently nineteen Railway Recruitment Boards are functioning and calling for various posts or vacancies through the direct recruitment and competitive examinations for every year. 

Only the candidates with the minimum qualification of 10+2 or equivalent are eligible to apply for the Group C posts. For the selection of candidates under RRB, aspirants need to appear and clear written test and present themselves in Practical Demonstration. The combined performance in the two rounds of selection will be considered for the selection.

Eligibility criteria for the Group C Recruitment

The detailed eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to apply for the post is given below:

  • Candidate should be the citizen of India.
  • The lower and upper age limit of the candidates appearing in RRB exam for Group C posts is 18 years to 29 years respectively.
  • Candidate should have passed HSC/10+2/any other equivalent examination from a recognized board of school education/ equivalent.

Application procedure

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before the last date. Candidate must logon to the official website and follow the following steps:

  • Candidate must check and ensure that their eligibility and other conditions like possession of an active and valid personal e-mail ID and a mobile number before applying for admission
  • After ensuring the eligibility criteria, candidates must start filling the application form through the web site by clicking on the tab ““New User Sign Up here”
  • Fill-in the Personal Details ,Contact Details etc to generate your username and password
  • To fill the rest of the application, the candidate can login any time using the username and password.
  • Fill up the complete application form following the step wise process and then proceed further.
  • After completely filling the application form pay the application fee as per the caste wise details.
  • Submit the application form
  • Take the printout of the completed application form and Send the application form along with all the necessary documents to RRC Mumbai
  • Keep a copy of the form with you for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the photocopies of the following documents along with originals for the purpose of verification:

  • Mark Sheet/Grade Sheet of the qualifying degree course. 
  • Caste certificate-if required
  • Sports certificate- in case of applying under sports quota
  • Other relevant documents

Application fee

  1. The application fee for General and OBC Category candidates: Rs. 500/-
  2. The application fee for SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWD / Women / Minorities/ Economically Backward Class categories candidates: Rs. 250/-

Admit Cards

The admit card specifies all the necessary information related to the candidate like examination centre /venue , exam date & timing, etc. RRB 2017 Admit cards will be made available for download only to the registered and eligible candidates. The admit card is an important document which acts as an ID proof at various stages of examination and admission process. It is a hall ticket, without which the candidate would not be allowed to enter the examination centre.

As per the Official notification of RRB, all the candidates can obtain the RRB Admit Cards 2017 from the official website. The admit cards will be made available for the purpose of downloading at least 2 weeks before the exam date.

Selection Process

Candidates are selected for Group C posts on the basis of their performance in the Written Entrance Test. The candidates qualifying the test shall be called for the round of personal demonstration. Selection shall be made strictly in the order of merit as per the results of the written entrance examination, reservation policy of the Indian railway recruitment services.
