Interested candidates can apply through online application mode. RRB has not provided any clear guidelines about the exam dates, syllabus structure and the examination pattern. However, from the analysis of the papers from previous years, a brief about the syllabus and the exam pattern is drawn below.

Pay Scale- Selected candidates for RRB Recruitment 2017 will get the monthly pay band as per the norms of GoI.
Candidates willing to apply for technical cadre and loco pilot post must be of 18 years as minimum and 28 years as maximum age. Candidates should have matriculation & ITI certification from recognized Institute before the last date of application submission. Candidates whose results are awaited, are ineligible to apply for RRB Recruitment.
Candidates who have been debarred from RRB examinations permanently or for a specified time which is not yet completed, need not apply for RRB Recruitment. Reserved category candidates need to enclose the required set of certificates in the prescribed format for applying under RRB Recruitment.
For applying under RRB Recruitment, candidates should have a valid email ID and mobile number as all the communications are done through the same. It should be noted that multiple applications from a candidate will result in rejection of the RRB Online Application Form.
From the analysis of the previous years’ papers, the exam pattern for Railway Recruitment has been deduced by the experts. The online objective based exam is a 90 minutes’ duration test. A total of 120 questions are asked in English and Hindi languages. The sections from which the questions will be asked are as follows:

It should be noted that there will be negative marking in the question paper. For every incorrect answer, 1/3rd mark will be deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidate. Candidate thus should not make any random guesses while solving the question paper.
All the candidates have to appear for an online Computer Based Test (CBT). RRB fixes cutoff for each category and qualifying candidates will be called for skill test and document verification. Interview is the final step for selection of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technician Grade III candidates.
Final Selection to the posts will be strictly in order of the Common Merit Lists prepared on the bases of the Candidates’ respective Performance and Sufficient High Marks secured in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test / Computer Based Online Recruitment Test.
