Joint CSIR UGC NET is conducted by CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), a premier nation R&D organization. CSIR UGC NET is a national level entrance examination conducted to determine the eligibility of a candidate for the position of Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship. The duration of the CSIR UGC NET 2016 exam was 3 hours. CSIR UGC NET comprises objective type questions worth 200 marks. CSIR UGC NET 2016 was conducted in 5 subjects- Life Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. CSIR UGC NET Result 2016 is now available at the official website of CSIR i.e. www.csirhrdg.res.in. The results were announced on March 27, 2017. Candidates must follow the below steps to check their CSIR UGC NET Result 2016:

  • The list of the selected candidates will appear on the screen.

CSIR UGC NET 2016 Marks Statement

Candidates can check CSIR UGC NET 2016 individual marks statement by entering Application form number or roll number on the official website. Candidates are advised to download or take a print out of the mark statement for future use.

Documents to self-attest and send 

Candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC NET 2016 must send attested/ self-attested Photocopies of important documents. List of important documents are as follows:

  • Date of birth proof (10th pass certificate)
  • Degree/Provisional degree of qualifying exam/ M.sc or equivalent degree.
  • Final marksheet with the required percentage of Marks
  • Caste certificate, if applicable.
  • Copy of CSIR Marks statement
  • Candidates belonging to OBC Category can submit their latest OBC Certificate (Non-creamy layer) as per the format given at ncbc.nic.in
  • Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped candidates should submit certificate as per Govt. of India rules

Note- Envelope carrying the documents must be sent to Section Officer, Certificate Section, HRD Group, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue Road, Pusa, New Delhi - 110012 through registered/ speed post. The envelope must be super-scribed with "Documents for December - 2016 NET Exam" along with roll number and the slot they have been allotted as CSIR JRF/UGC JRF/LS.

CSIR UGC NET Result 2016 Important Highlights

Candidates are advised to read through the following important highlights of CSR UGC NET Result 2017.

  • The Council shall not be held responsible for any printing error in the publication.
  • No separate intimation letter shall be issued.
  • The Fellowship will be effective from July 01, 2017.
  • The result has been finalized only after addressing all the queries/representations received from the candidates till stipulated date of January 19, 2017 (Till 5:00 pm)
  • Candidates who have applied under Bachelor’s Degree will be eligible for Fellowship only

CSIR UGC NET 2016 Cutoff

Minimum cut-off percentage for the award of fellowship / lectureship in different disciplines in the Joint CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship held on 18 Dec 2016 is given below.

JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) 

Junior Research Fellowship is a fellowship offered by CSIR to the eligible and selected candidates through UGC NET as their stipend for doctoral studies or for their assistance in various projects.  A large number of JRFs are awarded each year to candidates holding 4 years program/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. or Equivalent degree/BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree or students enrolled in integrated MS-Ph.D program. Candidates must at least have 55% (for General and OBC) and 50% (for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates) in their graduation. CSIR UGC NET 2016 Merit List

CSIR will publish a merit list according to the performance in CSIR UGC NET 2016. The list will comprise roll number and names of candidates who are qualified for JFR. Top 15% candidates from each subject will be selected for lectureship. The CSIR UGC NET 2016 Merit list will consist of Roll number and Rank of candidates.
