  • CSIR NET December 2018 Exam is considered less difficult than previous years exam.
  • The paper was of medium difficulty level.
  • The questions seemed to be shifting more towards the trend in the research atmosphere. Check CSIR NET Paper Analysis
  • Difficulty level was high but only in the case of Part – B.
  • Questions from Part – C were the combinations of medium & hard difficulty levels.
  • General Aptitude section was quite easy and scoring as well.
  • The difficulty level increased in ascending order from Part – A to Part – C.
  • The answer key of CSIR UGC NET will be released for all codes of test booklets A, B, C & D to be provided during the exam.
  • CSIR UGC NET December 2018 Result will be announced on the official website in the month of March/April 2019.

How to Check CSIR NET Answer Key?

In order to obtain Answer Keys for CSIR NET December 2018  for the examination, follow the below steps-

  1. Log in to a web browser and navigate to the site- www.csirhrdg.res.in
  2. Click on answer key notification, Joint CSIR-UGC NET EXAM Answer Key.
  3. Then, click on submit button. CSIR NET 2018 Answer Key will be displayed.
  4. Download the Answer key and match answer with your answer.
  5. Take a print out for future reference.

CSIR NET December 2018 Paper Analysis

The exam is divided in three sections i.e. Part A, Part B, and Part C and offers a rich variety of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).

The subjects covered in the exams are-

  • General Aptitude- Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Quantitative comparisons, Series Formation.
  • Life Sciences- Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Instrumentation, Genetics etc.
  • Chemical Science- Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Interdisciplinary topics.
  • Mathematics Science- Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, Modern Algebra, Ordinary and partial differential equation.
  • Earth Science- Earth and solar system, Ocean and Atmosphere, Geochemistry.
  • Physical Science- Mathematical physics, quantum physics, Electromagnetic theory, Electronics.

Part A is General Aptitude:

  • This section aims at analyzing the candidate’s potential to deal with specific tasks and react to a range of different situations.
  • The section is of 30 marks and minimum 15 out of 20 questions are required to be attempted for a score of 30.
  • Mostly, the exam focuses on Logical reasoning and Quantitative aptitude sectors.

Part B & C:

  • Part B and Part C hold higher weightage than Part A.
  • They collectively account for 170 marks and the questions are derived from the subject opted by the appearing student.
  • For example, if a candidate opts for Chemical science exam, the score break for Part B is 70 marks and Part C is 100 marks.
  • Unlike a Mathematical science exam has 75 marks allocated to Part B and 95 marks for Part C.

All subjects except Mathematical Science have a break of 30, 70 and 100 for Part A, Part B and Part C respectively.

You must remember that negative marking is applicable in all three sections and every wrong answer will deduct marks. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks are deducted.

The final result is displayed in the form of a merit list which is posted online.


CSIR NET Cut off 2019

CSIR publishes Cut Off marks on the day of result declaration. CSIR Result and cut off will release in the month of March/April 2019. Candidates can check the expected cut off based on previous years’ data in the below table.

There is a minimum criteria of 33% for General and OBC category and 25% for SC/ST and PwD category for both Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship.
