SSC CGL Tier 2 result to be declared in first week of January

SSC CGL Tier 2 result is expected to be declared in first week of January. Candidates can check their result on official website. Shortlisted candidate will appear for Tier 3. Tier 3 exam comprises a descriptive test which is introduced from this year only.

SSC CGL Tier 2 was conducted from November 30 , 2016 to December 2, 2016. Around 14 lacs students appeared for SSC CGL Tier 1  and 1.5 lacs candidates were shortlisted for Tier 2 exam.

How to check SSC CGL Tier 2 Result?

Candidates  can check their result online on SSC website through following steps :-

  • Visit SSC official website.
  • Go to the Results tab
  • Click on the notification link- Combined Graduate Level Examination Result.
  • A Pdf file containing CGL Results will be displayed.
  • Type your roll number in the search box to check your SSC CGL Result

The list will contain names of qualified candidates who are eligible for taking Tier 3 exam scheduled on January 15, 2016.

Since the SSC CGL 2016 exam is held in three tiers, so result is also declared separately. However after declaration of results of all the tiers, they are compiled together to form a combined single result.

About SSC CGL Tier 3 exam

SSC CGL Tier 3 will be descriptive test. As it is introduced first from this year candidates are very apprehensive about it. The test will be of 100 marks and candidates will be given 60 minutes to complete it. The syllabus includes precis, essay writing, comprehension. 

Preparation tips for Descriptive Test

  • For letter and application writing format is very important . Candidates should be familiar with all the rules.
  • Indentation is also important. You should write in a manner that it looks nicely indented.
  • There should be no mistake , no cutting , no overwriting in application/letter.
  • First read the paragraph carefully. Make its extract. Focus on what the author want to convey. Prepare a rough summary in mind and then attempt it.The size of precise should be 1/3 of original paragraph

SSC CGL Tier 1 Result and cut off

SSC CGL cut off is separately announced for each tier. Candidates need to score minimum marks as decided the Commission in Tier 1 to get qualified for Tier 2. In the following table, SSC CGL tier 1 cut off is represented.

SSC CGL Merit List 2016

Post declaration of SSC CGL tier 4 result, the final merit list is published. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in all the tiers of SSC CGL examination.

How to Check Your SSC CGL 2016 Merit Score? 

  • Visit the official website of SSC
  • Search the Notice, Marks of candidates who appeared in CGL and click over it
  • The PDF file of merit list will be displayed
  • Type your roll number in the search box to check your SSC CGL merit score
